The Soldier of Fortune.
A large and appreciative audience greeted Mr.
F. C. Bangs and his splendid company last night
in his most excellent play of “ The Soldier of
Fortune." Mr. Bangs is very popular iu Colum

any actor might be proud, and our theatre-going
people were exceedingly anxious to see him in
another play. Last night they were gratified,
aud this eminent actor demonstrated that he is
no less an actor of ability in other plays. He is
unquestionably one of the leading actors of the

what role he assumes.
As to the play last night he took the part of St.

ence showed their appreciation by enthusiastic
applause. At times it was almost deafening.
The company give him excellent support, and
Mr. Bangs will always draw a full house when he

trouble is experienced from the bristles coming
out of brushes. In the one we are offering this
objection is obviated.
We are now headquarters for the Oakley Soap
and Perfumery Company, and have on display a
magnificent line of their goods we are selling at
living prices. Our stock of Hair, Tooth, Nail and
Scrubbing Brushes, Ivory, Celluloid, Rubber and
Horn Combs, Whisp Brooms, Clothes and Black
ing Brushes and Polishers is very complete—
every style, make and price always on hand. We
stock every new preparation in the Drug, Chemi
cal, Patent Medicine, Perftime, Soap or Toilet
line as soon as brought to notice. Many articles
can be found in our varied stock that cannot be
obtained from other sources.
To the smoking public let us say we have re
cently received large additions to this depart-
meut, and we think there is no stock of Cigars
in this section equal in quality to ours.
Recent heavy additions to our Toilet Goods
line now gives us the largest, most meritorious
and prettiest line in Columbus. We shall con
tinue to dispense Soda water for sometime yet.
Give us a call, let us price you our goods, and we
feel confident we will share your patronage.

The German Evangelical Lutheran Lucas
Church, near the comer of Broadway and Wal-

for the lack of funds. Lost Saturday Mr. Henry
Sass, 2# Western avenue, received $6,000 for one-
fifth of ticket No. 77,227, which drew the second
capital prize of $25,000 in The Louisiana State
Lottery, on July 13. He is a member of the
Church (Rev. A. B. Weber pastor), and will loan
at a low rate this $5,000 to the new church, which
but for this aid would remain unfinished for lack
of funds. He Is a tailor, 70 years old—In this
