It loosen* the cough—relieves tho tightness of the rhest-and rapidly mitigates all the symp toms attendant upon an IRRITABLE CON DITION OF THE ORGANS OF RESPIRA TION. As a family medicine, it has already acquired a high reputation in the west, and ought to oc cupy a place in every farmer’s and planter's medicine chest. The following original letter was handed to us for publication; a remedy which can elicit such encomiums, must be a good one: Gxlvxston, Txxas, April 26, 1856. Du. O. 0. Woodman, New Orleans; My Dear Sir:—In justice to you and a duty I owe to a suffering, end, I may say, a world of coughing jieoplc, I stste what your invaluable Cough Remedy—your CHERRY' EXPEC TO RANT-—has done for me, when all other remedies have failed to give any relief. In the fall of 1817, living in Mt. Louis, where I have resided most of the time for the last sixteen years, I took a severe cold, which settled on my lungs, and was confined to my bed, and dosed and blistered by doctors for several weeks, but finally got on my legs again, but uot cured of my hard coughing, and rattling and tickling iu my throat, which continue.' I ssanlly for more than six months, always Ihe ' irstin the winter. My friends insisted I ri-td coughod enough to kill a dozen common mon, and that I must be in the last stage of consumption. I made uj> my mind that 1 must tough my life away. I left St. Louis in Doecwber last, to travel and spend the winter in kha South.— WhenJI called at your store in V icksburg, you will recollect, I was coughing so hard I could not make my business known. You said you would cure my cough. As you gavemo a but- tie of your CHERRY EXPECTORANT, I thought I would not slight you and your medi cine so much as not to try it; and in thankful- ness shall I ever remember the day I did so. In but a fow days.it began to allay and diminish my cough and tickling in my throat, and be- fore I had used more than three fourths of the conteuta oftlmt bottle, I was entirely cured, and for weeks I did not even raise a cough, thougi exposed day and uiglit, iu all weathers, in tra veling. However, in March, whilo traveling in North Carolina, I took a aevero cold, and my coughing commenced again, andalso the tick ling in my throat, at intervals; and before mj arriving in New Orleans, on tuo - ith Inst., on some night, my coughing V.X-JJ commence and continue for an hour or tv.- 1 soon pro cured another bottle from you, and iu less than two days 1 was entirely relieved again. I am now determined to always keep a bottle on hand, and in tho commencing of a cough, a ve ry few small doees will relieve it entirely. 1 am now fully satisfied it is tbe b>st CORflll REMEDY now knawn to the world; and it is duty you owe to the coughing and afflicted part of the human family, to put si valuable a remedy within the reach of all. Iu praises will soon be upon the tonguesof tecs of thousands ol joyful and coughlcss, happy souls. So great a remedy as your Kipecturant should be brought before the public. 1 am, deat sir, respectfully yours. • It. J.
