Ualvzston, Tixab, April 26, 1856.
Da. O. 0. Woodman, New Orleans;
My Dear Sir.—In justice to you and a duty
I owe to a suffering, and, I may say, a world of
coughing people, I stile wliat your invaluable
Cough Remedy—your CHERRY EXPEC
TORANT—lias done for me, when all other
remedies have failed to give any relief. In the
fall of 1817, living in Su Louis, where I have
resided most of the time for the last sixteen
years, I took a severe cold, which settled on my
lungs, and was confined to my bed, and dosed
and b/istered by doctors for several weeks, hut
finally got on my legs again, but not cured of
my hard coughing, and rattling end tickling iu
my ihroat, which continued lr-oraaantly for
more than six months, always the wont in the
winter. My friends insisted 1 had coughed
enough to kill a dozen common men, and that
I must be in the last stage of consumption. I
made up my mind that l must conga rny life
away. I left St. Louis in December last, to
travel and spend the winter In the South.—
Whcn'l called at your store in Vicksburg, you
will recollect, I was coughing so Imrd I could
not make my business known. You said you
would cure my cough. As you gavemo a bot
tle of your CHERRY EXPECTORANT, I
thought 1 would not slight you and your medi
cine so much as not to try it; and in thankful
ness shall I ever remember the day I did so. In
hut a fow days, it began to allay and diminish
my cough and tickling in my throat, and be
fore I had used more than three fourths of the
conic uts of that bottle., I was entirely cured, and
for weeks I did not even raise a cough, tliougl
expesed day and night, in all weathers, in tra
veling. However, in March, while traveling in
North Carolina, I took a severe cold, and my
coughing commenced again, and olse the tick
ling in my throat, at intervals; and before my
arriving in New Orleans, on the 1 Uh inst., on
some night, my coughing would commence
and continue for an hour or two. 1 soon pro
cured another bottle from you, ami in less than
two days I was entirely relieved again. I am
now determined to always keep a bottlo on
hand, and-in the commencing of a cough, a ve
ry few small doses will relieve it entirely. 1
am now fully satisfied if is the n*8T COUGH
KF.MEDY now known lo the world; and if is a
duty you owe to the coughing and afflicted
part of the human family, to put eo raluable a
remedy within the reach of all. Its oraises will
soon be upon the tonguesof tens of thousands ot
joyful and coughless, ha| py souls. So great a
remedy as your Expectorant should be brought
before the public.
