Galviston, Texas, April 26, 1856.
Da. O. t). Woodman, New Orleuns;
My Diar Sir.—In justice to you ami a duty
I one to a suffering, and, I may s*y, n world ol
coughing people, I stale what your invsluable
Congli Remedy—your CHERRY EXPEC
TORANT—has done for me, when all other
remedies have failed to givo any relief. In tin
foil of 1817, liking in St. Louis, where I have
lesided most of the lime for the last sixteen
years, I took a severe cold, which settled on my
lungs, and was confined to my bed, and dosed
and b/istered l-y doctors for several weeks, but
finally got on my legs again, but uot cured of
my hard coughing, and rat I ling and tickling iu
iny throat, which continued i -uiwauliy for
more than six months, alwaya the worst in the
winter. My friends insisted 1 had coughed
enough to kill a doxen common men, and that
I must he in the last stage of consumption. I
made up my mind that I must oocg i my life
away. I left St. Louis in Doe-ufiber last, to
travel and spend the winter in the South.—
WheujI called at your store in Vicksburg, you
will recollect, I was coughing ao hard I could
not make my busineas known. You aaid you
would cure my cough. As you gave me a bot
tle of your CHERRY EXPECTORANT, I
thought I would not slight you and your medi
cine no much as not to try it; and ir. thankful
ness shall 1 ever remember the day I did so. In
but a few days.it began to allay and diminish
my cough and tickling in my throat, and be
fore 1 had used more than three fourths of the
contcuts of that bottle,I was entirely cured, and
for weeks I did not even raise a cough, tLougi
expssed day and night, in all weathers, in tra
veling. However, in March, while traveling in
North Carolina, I took a severe cold, and my
coughing commenced again, and else the tick
ling in my throat, at intervals; and before my
arriving in New Orleans, un tho 11th iusfo cn
some night, my coughing wou'd ceuimcnce
and continue for an hour or iWu. I soon pro
cured another bottle froip you, undin less than
two duys I was entirely relieved again. I am
now determined to always keep a bottle on
hand, and in the commencing of a cough, a ve
ry few smalt doses will relieve it entirely. 1
am now fully satisfied it is the dxst COUGII
REMEDY' now known to the world; aud it is a
duty you owe fo the coughing and allljctcd
part of the human lamily, fo pat si valuable a
remedy within the reach ofaJJ. Iu praises will
soon be upon the tonguesuf tecuj thousands ol
joyful and coughlcss, happy souls. So great a
remedy as your Expectorant should be brought
before the public.
I am, dear sir, respectfully your*.
