Messrs Editors—Since tho death of Gen.
A. B. Weight it becomes us tojopk about to
see who aiSdng us can snppjy bis place as
our representativc.in the nest Congress. We
were well satisfied with oui- choice and could
he have b-cn spared, this labor would have
been saved, but it was otherwise ordfered and
the duty is upon us,'however unpleasant, to
so soon s?eem to forget one ,w$ cherishe 1 so
well. The 'county of Washington" lias iiot
been given-an opportunity to put forward
one of licr citizens for some years, and as we
now have a man whose qualifications are ful
ly equal to probably any one in the district,
we submit the name of Col. B. D. Evans to
the nominating convention, feeling assured
that if it should meet with his-approval, wo
will be ably and truly represented.
