The elections are held semi-an- mnilly, on the lirst Tuesday nights in June awl Decern her and the installations take place on the lirst Tuesday nights of July ami January following. The above officers will, of course be installed the first Tuesday night in January, and this inte resting program will doubtless call out the lull strength of the lodge for that event. Sundereville 1ms u lodge of 14X) members, and all of them take a deep interest in the affairs of the order. Though many members of the lodge reside in the country, they manage to attend lodge meetings finite frequently. The Odd Felloes have a hue lodge, and the social features, in addition to the regular work of the organization, make it ouei of the most desirable organizations we have iu our midst and one that, accomplishes much good. May they wax strong and keep up their good work is the wish of The Herald. Much interest was shown by the ladies in the election of officers for the local lodge, Violet No. 9, Uebeknhs 1. 0. O. As was previously announced, the bazaar has been postponed a week, being on the 15 and 16, in the lobby of the Hotel Julida. Dainty handmade caps, bibs, socks, carriage robes, and etc., will be found for the baby; dolls, and such things for the larger children. Christmas remem brances for each member of the family. Miss Mary Irwin will have charge of the table of delici ous home made candies. Chocolate and sandwiches will be served at any time. High water mirk was readied during the month ending Decem ber 10th, in the earnings of the Sandersville Water Works and Electric LigluJPlants, tliejj grand totul from the City and Tebnille aggregating the sun of twelve bundled and eighty dollars and eleven cents; this sum not in cluding any charge for the street lights iu this city, which would bo charged for by private owners at the rate of six dollars each. Several new natrons have been added during the past month and the number is constantly increas ing. The larger income hastens the day when the city may have tree schools, in keeping with the pro gressive cities that have hud the foresight to mvn their own plants, and thus bring growth and pro gress and life themselves. The appointment given Rev. Mr. Col-on of the church at Moultrie, is very pleasing to hi* friends here.' We take pleasure in announ cing that Messrs. W. S. Durst and J. H. Thompson have b ased to Jackson’s 5 and ll) cent Store, 1 and will open up in a few days with a complete line of clothing and gent’s furnishing goods. We me always glad to welcome a new enterprise to our little city, ami feel sure these gentlemen will make good with the, people of Sandersville and Washington county. Mr. Thomson is well known to the residents of Sandersville and county, ana is quite popular, as was evidenced by his recent elec tion as coroner. Mr. Durst is from Ocala, Fla., and new to our people, but lie will receive a cor dial welcome, and deserves it, we are sure. The new' firm hopes to have it’s goods in by the latter part of this week, and expects to do it’s share of business in it’s line. Cards have been issued for the marriage of Mr. Bennie Frank Boatright and Miss Susie Smith, at the home of the bride’s par ents, near Tennilie, the happy event to take place on December 16th. The young couple have the best wishes of a host of friends in ad vance of their marriage.
