Pittsburg, Pa., Sept 26.
This afternoon tbe people of this city were

the Pittsburg post-office was taken possession

from bis position because of grave irreg

have culminated in a defalcation amount

by Grant in 1868, and was an active a politi

head men in all political matters hereabouts,
and was the truest of slaves to tbe administra

of the post-office department as to there beiug
anything wrong in the Pittsburg post-office
were created by numerous complaints that
reached Washington from business men and
houses of their failure to receive letters con-|

interest of Atlanta.
We ere now in great and perilous danger,

when the city needed the wisdom snd financial ability
of her best men, now is the time. I look upon the
preeent distracted end wild political excitement now
being manipulated by a few offioe seekers ae being
very dieastrons to the city’s future prosperity. Now
is the time we need clear-headed end honest-hearted
men to engineer city affaire ; men who have tho confi

mere faction.
In conclusion, gentlemen, accept my thanks for the
confidence expressed by-nsany in my integrity. At
