It was my privilege one day last week, by invitation I or Professor Mallon, to visit the Young Ladies’ High j School of this city, and the neatness of the apart- | ir.ente, the adaptability of the school furniture and appointments, and the perfect order aud discipline i manifested everywhere, commanded my warmest ad miration. In every grade was exhibited, like a felt 1 but invisible presence, the systematic and efficient management of the able Superintendent permeating every department and resting like a halo on teacher and scholar alike. The Graud Jury have returned thirty true bills du ring thejweek, and on three indictments returned “no bill.’’ The Graud Jury was discharged for the term, yes terday evening. A new Grand Jury will be organized for each week probably. All th* Jurors were dis charged at 4 o’clock, except those engaged in the trial of the case of T. W. Poullain vs Delos O. Cole. Bill kc. The arguments of counsel in this case were very able aud exhaustive, and occupied the whole day, and were still progressing at 5:15 p. m. The case was probably conc.ud^d last night. We learn that the jury in tho case of Thomas N. Poullain vs Delos O. Cole, returned a verdict for the complainants. It wes a bill to enjoin mortgage fi fap, which were proceeding against l)r. poullaiu’s leasehold interest in the National Hotel. The amount involved was upwards of $10,000. This is quite a victory for complainant’s counsel, Messis.
