ATLANTA MEDICAL COLLEGE. T NHB SIXTEENTH REGULAR COl T B TUBES in this Imtitatioa « first Monday in November next, FACULTY W. GRIGGS, M. or of Principles aiu : Mod- , From ILe Prescott (Ariz ) Miner, Sept. is. ia the Miner, September Gtli, iU editor, J. H. Marion, announced a new departure, and .1 ia now the pleas.ng duty of the sab-editor to chronicle the fact that the event foretold has occurred. On Tuesday. September lGth, T . IT Marion and Flora E. B’.nglmrt were uado man and wife, by virtue cf the ceremo ny performed by Judge If. W. Floury. The janiage took pUce at the n sidenreof the bniTc’a sister. Mi 3. E. W. Well*?, at 12 noon, .n£ was quite a private aff«ir, only the rela tive^ cf the family and a very f».w otbexs Ln- 1 »ncj present. AU r the ceremony, intimate friends made ; im gratiJsltorj' c dis, gn 1 tiro four emi lovee^ of lira Miner office marched up to Mr. WellV 1'jjuae about the middle of the afternoon, and assured Mr. 31. of their good will, etc. Wine ..ml cake were Listed, and the party reinruod io the office, and decorated the outside door viLli the legend, •‘Marion hits departed,'’in .vrge letters, surrounded vith emblem-? ol gladness and respect, and then devoted the j rest of the day to jollity and bibulous com- pound?. * Q. A., who has a tali llig-stail near the of- j iice, displayed the bunting at half-mast. So. . ■J. Kogers and A. Miller ran r foct-raco for ! .VO dollars, and lingers and somebody else ran another lor a keg ol beer, iu front of the Miner office, and Jiogers won both races, and • brought the beer inside, anu the boys distrib- ' .ted it. and a stranger passing might have j ip posed that our devil was t:\kbr.* ting his birthday. In the evening the happy pair kept open ■ onse at their new bom 3 on Carleton street, ' . - , ,:id from dark null! Urn horns -jtoar thin the 1 lU " cf 5,artl '- io,1 °" 1D ' house was thronged. Gen. Crook and liis -taff offixis and their wives, and nil the .achelor officers from Fort Whipple were there. The mayor and council cf Fresco 4 1 presented themselves. Everybody in Prcs- ott, and many citizens from outside pre cincts, tiled through the front room, .shook .amis with the bride and bridegroom, nipped slices of cake and bunches cf grapes in the* ining-room, and got everything they wanted to drink in the kitchen, which did a better business in fluids than any establishment in Prescott that night. Al last the hilarities were over, and the hi larious dispersed; the lights were put out, .ad it seemed as it quiet would last till the dawn of another day at least, but the hood lums broke loose: with harp, violin, bass viol nd flute, they surrounded the house of the departed, and discoursed sweet music until the departed resurrected himself and appeared •n the porch and asked the crowd to take a drink with him in the kitchen aforesaid, .» hich invitation was unanimously applauded, and-the way that crowd disposed of cham pagne, egg-nogg, and more common stimu lants, was astonishing. The goose was eleva ted to the ceiling, and then the crowd left the house, and after another tune on the wind md string instruments they too departed and left the world to darkness and to John. Naturalists, botanists and herbalist-; have been seen in this section talking learnedly .bout the flora and fauna of the territory. We notify them thal Marion has carried off all the Flora of Chino valley, so they need search for no more specimens in that region. Item.—AH the boys in the Miner office are talking about marrying. In the spring. The editor of the Miner, pro tom, lias the honor to thus convey to ths public and the particular friends o‘ Mr. and Mrs. John H. I e^. . Marion, their grateful appreciation of the liitapSCO rCltlcllO iMStitlltO. many marked and pleasurable public and private favors and compliments bestowed . upon them during the present week, and NOcU* Baltimore, !VIcL, hopes that the community may be as well satisfied as the two principals in the affair • videutlv ate. I tell you we sot a heap of store by that dorg. I mind the lime well when old Parson Ilenfioe took up Nat and offered to fight his Bose agin Tug for five hundred of Peeler cot ton. Thar warnt no banks in the town them times, but, gentlemen, the run tbar was on old stockings and teapots. Them old jocius the ford that was weak from dry lot bet brash on Bose, for he had grit, but he didn’t have the build, he was dished the wroncr way. and, gentlemen. I tell yon as a friend, and 11 may be money ia your ft ink, never bet a pic ayune on any man's dorg that gets enough to • *»at, nor no more on one that carries a line of shafting behind him: but if yon see one like \ Tag, good old Tag, with jist enough tail to tell it s the tail end, that jumps oft the ground with nil fours at once, borrow to bet on that animal. Bat about the tight: Bose came to taw looking like he’d burst open with victuals. The first round tbar was four hundred dorg’s iu that . ring, and by the good Ned ! Bose earae cut with nary ear. The second, Tag laid him 1 down and caught him by the vest buttons, and as I hope to live Bose was heard yowling , clear to iKaver-darn: but Tag was sorter deaf that day and held on. Maybe if he’d heard that “ingun finished" taut he wouldn't have turned him inside out but he did it, gentle men, find he straightened his hind legs, and bodiaciously lifted enough hide oil him to give him ft ager.
