It is a complete tissue of falsehood, and whoever gave Mr. Wise tho information is gui ty of asserting that which ia not true and telling a delib erate falsehood. For tbe year I remained in office under Governor Bullock, charges were go.vg to him every day that I would not discharge Democrats and employ Republicans. And right hers 1 will stato a fact that is wo»l known to the mechanics of Atlanta—it is this: I never dipchargcd any per* on in my department on locodiit of his politics; and I defy tho»e making the assertions to prove otherwise. PUBLICATION. To Trtr. Editors of th* Herald : In yesterday's issue appeared a communication beaded “Execative Committee Fourth Ward,” in which a new executive committee were appointed. The geatlemen therein named are good and true men, and aa far as I know, no objections can be raised against cither one of them; but I want to sot mjself right as being Secretary ofstbe Fourth Ward Clnb, (which, by the way, was unsolicited by me.) The Fourth Warn took the initiative in the :ecent delegate movement. After the general resolutions of tbe mass meeting at the City Hall, I wont to Mr. Ivy, President of the Fourth Ward Club, and suggested to him that inasmuch as tbe Fourth Ward had made the first steps in the new progress, that wa ought to have the fltst eay, in compliance with the resolutions passed at tbe City Hall. Ho acquiesced, and upon mutual agreement the gentleman named in the first notice was appointed with his consent, and published in the papers by bis authority. Ha further suggested that when such plan is adopted tbe case be tried, unless continued for Providential cause, or on account of a legal showing for oontmuance. J Glenn suggested ths appointment of a com mittee of three to consider ths various plans proposed and report what they .consider the most practicable this afternoon. Col.
