CZNQ JOURS,
OR
ANT.-HALSAMIC GONORRIBEAL SOLUTION,
Warranted to curtin Fire Days.
HIS iucomparali'e and invaluable remedy so
I long known, and used withsucb unparrallcled
success in tin- Canadas for the last 30 ycais, ap
peals to need no paneg) ric. Its operation upon (lie
human system is such that it invariably acts like
a charm, for the relief a.id ladioal cure nf a certain
common and disagreeable “ills the flesh is heir to.”
Tins piize obtains its own name from the certain
success which has attended it through all of its
trying circumstances, namely, “five days,”—the
same suoess which followed it in a Northern lati
linlc still obtains in a more bouilid'rn. The formula
or recipe was obtained at great expense, intrigue
and bazaid by ,M Cheveres, from the celebrated
Indian ( hies Wasenothe, or Great Moon, whilst
he, with others was pursuing the lucrative Fur bu
siness in the Noith-west with the Indians.—
W ahenoshe prized highly and use it with invariable
success throughout his two tribes, its known and
valued virtues have alieady enriched l» an a most
incredible extent the children of this war'ike pi ince,
nut only hy actual sale of the article itself to in
dividuals, but by parting with copies of his receipt
at enormous prices to the Chief of every tribe of
Indians in America, with a solemn promise to the
Great Spirit, never to divulge the ‘aitof its com
position until he sleeps with his fathers,” although
free to use it in their rcsjiective tribes, which
places it in tlie hands of every Indian who rely
with, 1 may say, religious confidence on its cura
ble powers.
Be nw is a copy of the translation as near as it can
be anglisized of the deed given by Wabenoshe, to
M. Chcveret. when he purchased the original recipe,
and had twice assisted the I hies himself through
the tedious manipulatory process of manufacture
Few white men would credit the length of time
which Is consumed in preparing the article for im
mediate use.
TRANSLATION.
“I, Wabenoshe, Chief of the nations Ottowaand
Chippewa, for the love and good feeling which I
have for my white friend M. Chevcict, (for he has
done many good things for me and my people,) I
give to him my greatest cure for the bod sickness
which my children have had sent among them as
a punishment hy the Great Spirit, and hope that in
hi- hands it may do much good, and make him very
rich.”

TO THE FACULTY AND HEADS OF i
FAMILIES. |
Dll. MILES’ COMPOUND EXTRACT OF r
TOMATO—a substitute for Calomel, and t
does not belong to the family of quack medicines;
for the reason that the component parts are made I
known to the faculty, or any one else that may
wish to know, by any of Hie agents keeping lliem
for sale. Since this discovery so long and anx
iously looked for, some otic in almost the extreme
Noith has advertised a Tomato Pill, purposing to
be made from the stalk, a thing not more absurd
than for one to otter meal from the corn stalk, to ,
say nothing of the difficulty of raising the Tomato 1
so far North.
Dr. Miles, of Cincinnati, is the proprietor of the
Tomato Pills (proper) for the great benefits of »
which, he holds himself bound, ami in lionur pledg- s
ed to prove by their use, that they are a. 1 that they I
profess to be. and will do for othets what they 1
have dune for such as mav have used them ; as I
tliis is a vegetable of great use, and value, it will 1
doubt ers be valuable information to families to
know that the Yellow are just doubly as valuable 1
as the Bed Tomato, and produces twice as much 1
of the bapatine, ot active principle, and when used
as a daily vegetable will be found to keep the
system in much better condition than the other
kind ( many will reco lcct with what tiembling
anxiety calomel has been given to children, and
how they then wished for a substitute, it has
long been known that the Tomato contained ca
tbuitic principles, but nut until of late was it
arceitained that they contained aitciative and diu
retic properties. The Faculty embrace and use
the preparation most cheerfully, fur the reason that
they know what it is Were it a patent mystery, |
they would he bound to reject the medicine, as they I
justly do the one thousand and one cure-alls of the
day. If you wi-h to cleanse the system with a
mild, sa e anti-bilious medicine, use the lomato
Pill, of which a supply, we learn, will soon be in

Radical Cure ol Hernia or Rupture, by Dr.
L'ltnse’s Improved Surgeons’ Trusses,
fIIHE subscriber lias opened an office, at the Drug

\ treatment of Hernia or Rupture, by means of these
1 ustly celebrated instruments. He has now used
I them for nearly a year, and, did not delicacy forbid,
j he could name several persons who have been radi
■ catty cured, of tliis truly distressing and dangerous
aiToction, by the useof these Trusses, besides many
1 others who are in a fairway of being entirely re
-1 lieved. The following is the language of the eotn
, mittee ol the Philadelphia Medical Society on Hie
Radical i ure of Heinia.
“ The instruments of Dr. Chase have elfected
the permanent and accurate retention of the in
testines in every case of Hernia observed by the
committee, without material inconvenience to the
patient, and often under trials more severe than
j are usually ventured upon by those who wearuther
trusses; trials that won d be imprudent with any
other apparatus known to the committee.”
“ The committee are induced by the foregoing
conclusions to recommend, in strong terms, the in
struments of Dr. Chase to the confidence of
the profession, as the best known means of me
chanical retention in hernia, and as furnishing the
highest chances of radical cure.”
The fol owing is from the Southern Medical and
i Southern Journal, published in ur own city.
“ All must admit of the radical cure of hernia,
and that Dr. Chase’s Trusses are decidedly the best
yet invented toeilect Hie o’ ject.”
Persons from a distance can have the instruments
applied, upon application at the office, and all ne
cessary information given to enable tbrm to adjusj
it themselves. The poor, who are laboring under
this afflicting complaint, will be treated gratuitous
ly upon presenting a certificate, from someresponsi
tile person, of their pecuniary disability.
Ti'o instruments are of alt sizes, and applicable
to every variety of reducible rupture,

Ca .March 3d, 1838:
Dr. Peters —Dear Sir, —By request of your agent,
Mr. Harrison, I send you a few lines respecting the
almo-t miraculous effects of your pit's-, andl would
a-d, that you may make use ol them, in connection
with my name, in any manner you deem proper, 1
speak of their merits from experience,as I and my
family have taken upwards of thirty boxes in three
years; and so great ase the benetits we have receiv
ed from them in general, that 1 would rather pur
chase them at ten dollars a box than have my house
without them. I will not enumerate the afflictions
they haveielieved us of; but l.can assure you they
were many, and of very opposite natures, which
has fully proved to me that your medicine is a sim
ple purifier of the system, and therefore equally
the enemy of every disease. 1 will mention one
case. 1 have a sister who had been for a long pe
riod severely afflicted with dropsy in the chest and
was brought by it to the very verge of the grai e.
She was attended by the most eminent physicians
that money could procure; but all their efforts to
restore her to health,or even to mitigate hersuffer
ings were fruitless ; and accordingly, we all consid
ered her immediate death as inevitable, ny good
fortune, however, as she was in this situation, ex
pect ng every day to be her last, your pills were
introduced into my family, and so speedy and pal
pable were their effects that three doses visibly re
lieved her, and in less than three months she was
perfectly restored to health. This case, I and all
who were witness of it, (but more especially the
suffering party,) considered to be the next thing to
miraculous; and yet I could mention many mote
of an equally desperate nature, in which your pills
were equa ly successful in rescuing the patients
from the jaws of death. Need I add that the popu
larity of your medicine amounts to enthusiasm in
this section of the country > But this I presume
you know fiom the immense quantity you dispose
of i may mention, however, that notwithstanding
its general use, I never heard an individual complain
of its effects. My residence is I2mi'es from Ral
eigh, on the road to Fayetteville. I am, with sen
timents of regard, your ob’t servant.
A. G. BANKS.
To Dr. Peters, —Sir—For upward- of fifteen
months, 1 have been c.uelly afflicted with Fever
and Ague; and during the time could find nothing—
though 1 had app.i d to every thing that gave me
any ruing .ike permanent relief. At length, how
ever, your pills were recommended to me, fiy one
of our best physicians, and I am most grateful and
happy in being able to add. that 1 had scarcely used '
two boxes when I found that they had restored me
to perfect health. Since then, various members of
my family have used them with equal success—
and consequently 1 feel it my duty to apprise jou
of the fact, and to request of you to publish this
certil.cate, as lam anxious to add my public testi
mony to the almost miraculous virtues of your un
rivalled medicine. Respectfully yours,
THEODORE JAMES.

Dr. J. P. Peters—My Dear Sir—On the night of

your pills —four of which I administere I, with
such immediate happy effect that in a few minutes
my patient was at ease, and out of danger. T his

THE subscriber has the pleasure ol announcing

the complaints, which it speedily overcomes, were
beyond ihe reach ul human remedy as for upwards
of a thousand ytnrs. they had baffled the wisdom
and ingenuity of the most profound physicians in
all parts of the world. This Cordial, however, to
the great sdvaniageof the human race, soon proved
itself to be the desideratum so long sought lor; and
accordingly, notwithstandirg t| e brief peri d of its
existence, it has required a celebrity so great, that
it la eagerly inquired fur throughout the civilized
globe. Dr Magnin soon finding that the demand
was so vast as to render a supply impossible, dis

“Le Cordial lie Lucine," or, in English, “ the
Lucina Cordial,” is a general invigorator of the
human frame! In all the various cases of
lassitude, and defalcation ; it is an unfailing remrl
dy; as it is equally its province to imparl cheerful
ness and decision to the mind, as health and vigor
to the body Bui the peculiar virtue on which us
celebrity is based, is the facility and eertainly with
which it restores the virile powers when they havs
hern destroved by disease,time,recklessness,or any
of the numerous causes which terminate in the
prostration of ihose fund ions.
In common with the generality of really good
medicines, tliist oidial conia.ns nothing of a merj
curial or deleterious nature, among the many ingre
dients which compose it; but is, at the same lime,
so simple, yet so t fficacious, that while it can reno
vate the prostrated energies of a giant, an infant
may use it,not only with impunity, but with ad
vantage.
The usages of society are unfortunately such,
that, notwithstanding the bem fits which would be
sure to result from it, wecannoteiiter into an analy
sis ol this ine- timable Cordial here,or publish many
of the documents which have been received, as
vouchers ol ihe blessings n has conferred on num
bers of despairing individuals. Butt- is wc cannot
forbear remarking—lhat it hag been demonstrated
that there is scarcely ever, if any such thing at all,
as natural barrenness, or as natural imbecility of
lheprocreantlunciions,ineilhersex; and therefore,
ih'it these evils are the effects of artificial causes,
and may be speedily subdued und removed by the
use ol •* I« Cordial de Lucine."
The Lucina Cordial is also tn indubitable cure
for the Gleet, and ibe Fluor Vlbus, obstructed, diffi
