I !.'. 1 11. 1 Georgia, Cass comity : f JNO the people, generally honorable, the petition I of lliciiard A. Milner, of Etowah, of the county of Oass, and State aforesaid, respectfully shew et*:- 1 That the profession of the law is about to injure and damage your petitioner a few dollars beyond his purse. For that, whereas, heretofore, to wit: your petitioner, some several months ago, became a licenced Attorney and Counsellor, and would willingly, sometime past, have become a practicing attorney and counsellor thereof, but for the very simple, obvious and reasonable circum stance, the want of skill as a lawyer at home, and the reputation of experienced legal ahi'ity abroad. Now, therefore, your petitioner avers, that as ic is a young man, he feels very much the neces ity of the experience and legal learningof his pro fessional elders, yet, nevertheless, that he feels villing to use his utmost skill and industry to manage, successfully and satisfactorily, all causes, Whether of a civil or criminal nature, which the (uhlic, individually or collectively, n ay think pro per to entrust to his care, in consideration thereof he receive the usual fee, to wit: the propelling motive! And for further plea, your petitioner, informing, saith, that he is associated with James Milner, of the county and State aforesaid, and they will prac tice law, using the name and style and firm of R. A. & J. Milner; that they have opened an office in Cassville, where they will at all times be found; that all letters directed to their charge will be strictly attended to; that we would prefer them post paid, provided they are not from the ladies, for they, being “fundamentally wrong,” we think, should have an attested right in our ministerial capacity. And your orator further sheweth, that you may have a general information of the premises afore said. Hint the Chronicle A Sentinel, of Augusta, the Charleston Mercury, of Charleston, the Savannah Georgian, to wit: papers edited at those several places, publish this writ (called a petition) three times in succession, hereinafter as soon as the na tme of the case will admit, and forward their cc counts to me, and they shall he ccrtioraiied with out appeal; that all papers publish this petition.il they wish to do so at their own expense, provided they be south of the line of abolitionism, (verbum sat.) Who refore you r petitioner maketh h imsel f known to you, and wou'd like to be known of you, and know ye, individually and collectively, single persons or firms, in all causes which yon have in this part of the State, arising cither cx contractu or cx delicto, requiring me to he and appear at the several courts to advocate tbe same, sub petunia, and your pe itioner will ever pray, &c , and the said James dolh the like, Ac. R. A. MILNER, Attorney, Cassvi le, Ga. N. B. I reckon I may safely say to all, as my acquaintance is limited, and 1 cannot call on legal gentlemen for recommendation, that I shall most indubitably gain every cause, “nemincm contra.” dec IB w3t WOOD WANTED.
