Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Lamar
Russell of Reynolds announce
the engagement of their daugh
ter, Miss Lynn Carter Russell,
to Donald Paul Anderson, son
of Mr. and Mrs. David Clark
Anderson of Chateauroux, Indu,
France. The wedding is set for
June 16 at the First Baptist
Church in Reynolds.
Miss Russell, granddaughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Lee
of Sylvester and the late Mr.
and Mrs. Henry L. Russell of
Dawson was graduated from the
Reynolds High School.
The bride-elect is to be
graduate with an AB degree in
social studies in June from Tift
College where she has served
on the Honor Council and Baptist
Student Union Executive Coun
cil. She has also been active
in Student National Education
Association, Studio Players, In
ternational Relations Club and
Student Volunteers.
Miss Russell served as a
Baptist Student Union summer
missionary to Montana and she
is on the state executive coun
cil of the Baptist Student Union.

To Be Garden
Club Hostess
The Butler Garden Club will
meet at the home of Mrs. Jean
ette Oliphant in Macon at 3
p. m., April 10, for the re
gular meeting.
Mrs. Oliphant will accompany
the group on a tour of homes
and grrdens in Macon and ex
tends a cordial invitation to all
Club Members and any one
interested to attend.

Johnson and the late Mr. John
son of Long Island, New York,
was graduated from Warwick
High School in Newport News,
Virginia.
Mr. Anderson was graduated
from the College of William
and Mary where he was a mem
ber of Eta Sigma Phi fraternity.
He is attending Colden Gate
Baptist Theological Seminary
in Mill Valley, California,
where the couple will make their
home.

Mrs. Dewey Johnson spent
the week end with her sister,
Mrs. Ora Barrow, at Rupert.
Larry and Gary Windham of
Macon, spent several days last
week (spring holidays) with
their grandmother, Mrs. Hoke
Windham. Guests of Mrs. Wind
ham and Mr. Jack Driskell,
Sunday, included Mr. and Mrs.
Wendell Windham of Macon and
Mrs. W. Z. Goodwin of Colum- .
bus.
Mrs. Hoke Windham’s home
is in the process of undergoing
renovation. New homes being
constructed in the southern part
of Butler are Mrs. Willie
George Barnes’ and the Richard
Taylors'. The attractive new
home of Mrs. John Bone is near
completion. The Willis Gar
retts have recently moved into
their new home, the former
Eppie Arnold residence.
Bill Gibson of Auburn spent
the week end with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gibson.

monstration Club members
were joined by a large num
ber of local ladies for a tour of
Rich’s via charter bus, Tues
day, 7;30 a. m.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Ellerbee
of Columbus and daughter, Mrs.
Gwen Powers and children of
Myrtle Beach, S. C., were din
ner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lu
ther Spillers, Saturday.

March meeting of the Rupert
Home Demonstration Club,
Thursday, at the Club House.

Mrs. Riddle Is
Model At Meet
In Atlanta
Mrs. Harold Riddle of Mon
tezuma modeled a white satin
gown handpainted with the life
of a peach from the bud of the
bloom to the full grown ripe
peach at the Georgia Hair
dressers and Cosmetologists
Association which met Sunday in
Atlanta. Mrs. Riddle’s blonde
hair was also toned in the pinks
and reds of the peach.
The former Carlotta Pye,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.
G. Pye Sr., she represented
the Peach District of
beauticians which includes
Taylor County.

at 9;45 a. m. and 7 p. m.,
respectively.

meet at 3:330 p. m., Monday.

Miss Sonja Crooke, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Syd Crooke
of Taylor Mill, and Jimmy
Greathouse, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Greathouse of Fort
Valley, were married Friday
night, March 22, 7:00, at the
bride's home with the Rev.
David Paige officiating, using
the double ring ceremony.
Miss Terry Smith was
the maid of honor. She was
dressed in brown with match
ing accessories. Gary Mcln-
vale was the best man.
Miss Crooke wore for her
wedding a beige and orange
suit with orange accessories
and a corsage of orange car
nations.
The bride’s mother was
dressed in beige and the
groom’s mother chose a white
ensemble.
Immediately following the
ceremony a reception was
held in the dining room of the
home. Mr. and Mrs. Greathouse
left for a brief wedding trip
after which they will make their
home in Fort Valley.
