Pu blic Works Director David Windh am advised that the 2019 CDBG project in the Clover Lane, Pineview f and Plantation Dr area is almost complete, and Fire Coordinator Eddie Moulton reported that the Butler fire Department responded to 18 calls in May. Af ter department heads provided reports t the Mayor and Council held a work session. Traffic Stop In Butler Leads To Arrest Of Warner Robins Woman On June 6. 2021, at approxi mately 12:27 a.m., Officer Shelby Cloniger with the But ler Police Department was pa trolling Hwy. 96, when he ob served a vehicle speeding, Ofc. Clonigcr conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, and while talking with the driver, he smelled marijuana. The driver of the vehicle told Ofc. Cloniger the marijuana was in a backpack in the back seat, A search of the vehicle was conducted, and the mari juana was found where the driver said it was. The driver. Tiffany Webb of Warner Robins, GA, was charged with Speeding and Possession of Marijuana Less than One Ounce. Police Chief Matt Woodard stated, “Although many cities and states have decriminalized marijuana, it is still illegal in Georgia, and the Butler Police Department will enforce the laws as they arc written/’ Chief Woodard also thanks the Taylor County Sheriff s Of fice and the Reynolds Police De partment for their assistance with the traffic stop. Viking Nathan Patterson Invited To EXOS Top 50 Football Camp Nathan Patterson recently at tended the invitation only EXOS Top 50 Football Camp and Showcase in Pensacola, FL. He went as a running back instead of his usual position as a MLB on defense at the coach’s advice, Nate was the fastest participant in the 40 yard Sprint at 4,65 seconds and sec ond in vertical jump at 34.4". He was also rated #3 overall of athletes at the event. Athletes at this event w r crc from Florida, Alabama. Mississippi, Georgia, Texas, and North Carolina. He is now on the Top 50 All American Watch List and is ranked tt 15 in the Southeast ern rankings. This places him on the list to possibly be se lected on the All-American team that consists of athletes who have attended and ex celled at EXOS Select 50 show cases. Reynolds Police Department Along With Butler Police And Georgia State Patrol Conduct Safety Point Check In Reynolds According to Reynolds Police Chief Lonnie J, Holder, on June 11th, the Reynolds Police De partment, Butler Police De partment, and the Georgia State Patrol conducted a safety point check for impaired driv ers in Reynolds. A total of 26 citations were issued. VeLencion Lama real Flint, a 21 year old male of Dexter, GA, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Dis tribute and Possession of a Firearm During the Commis sion of a Crime, Dimitri Alexander BurIeb, a 33 year old male of Phenix City, AL, was charged with Posses sion of Marijuana. Zechariah Laquintit King, a 22 year old male of Atlanta, GA, was charged with Possession of Mari juana and Possession of a Drug Related Object, Kyaisha Eliza Dubose, a 20 year old female of Americus, GA, was charged with Posses sion of Marijuana and Posses sion of a Drug Related Object. Warren Bernard Long, a 39 year old male of Hawkinsville, GA, was charged with Posses sion of a Drug Related Object and Suspended Registration. Brandon Keshun Smith, a 23 year old male of Warner Rob ins, GA, was charged with Pos session of Marijuana and Pos session of a Drug Related Ob ject. (More photos on page 6) Nakeem - Koby Troutman To Participate In Johnny Mercer Foundation Songwriters Project The Johnny Mercer Founda tion (JMF) and the American Music Theatre Project (AMTP) at Northwestern University will continue their partnership with the 16th annual Songwriters Project. Nakeem - Koby Troutman of Reynolds and 12 other participants from around the world, including the U.S., U K. and Tanzania, will take partin an intensive week- long program of virtual master classes and workshops from their homes. Nakeem is a 2016 Honor Graduate of Taylor County High School and is the son of Curtis and Shara Troutman of Reynolds. This year, over 200 applicants, hailing from 13 countries, in cluding the U.S., Poland, Abu Dhabi, Italy, England, Sweden, Portugal, Canada, Japan, China, Turkey, Brazil, and the Netherlands, applied for the 13 spots in the prestigious pro gram, which has been a cata lyst to the careers of many art ists. Among the program alumni are Tony, Oscar, and Golden Globe Award winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (“La La Land,” “Dear Evan Hansen”).
