Milner tables minor
sudivision request
WALTER GEIGER
news@bamesville.com
The Milner city coun
cil tabled a request by
developer Adam McGin
nis to split 26.27 acres on
Main Street just north of
downtown into five lots.
The property is known
as the Gresham-Twilley
tract.
The new lots would be
just over five acres each
and McGinnis proposed a
1500 square foot mini
mum for homes. Council
man Skip Seda argued the
homes should be larger.
After much discus
sion, the council tabled
the matter until it goes
before the new joint plan
ning commission being
formed by the county,
Barnesville and Milner.
Milner will have two
seats on the new com
mission.
Former councilman
Michael Floyd has vol
unteered for one seat.
Milner is searching for a
second member.
The new commission
will make no final deci
sions. Those will remain
with the governing bod
ies. They will have input.
At the end of the meet
ing, a frustrated McGinn
is said, “We’ll just have to
solve this another way.”
He summoned city
attorney Monica Hamlett
outside where they had a
long conversation.
