Little Ned, our rght arm, has been confined to his bed all the week, and his ease of small type has stood ’eser ed and in grim silence.-- 'i he two hands left have worked early and late, and even when both were suf fering with a burning fever. We hope this explanation will suffice. We have no idea at all of letting The Citizen fall off, but shall strive to make each succeeding number bettor than the last. It is The Gubernatorial Convention met in the Representative Hall in ihe capi- tol in Atlanta, at 12 o’clock, m., on Wednesday, and promptly organized by electing Capt Harry Jackson per manent chairman. The first question was the prevalence of the majori y or the two thi-ds rule for the government of the action of the convention. The majority rule was adopted by an overwhelming majority. Ou Thursday morning, considering the vo‘e upon the majority rule a ‘est vote, the name of lion. A. O Bacon was withdrawn, and Hon. A, LI. Ste phens was nominated by acclamation, amidst the greatest, enthusiasm. Hon. Thomas Hardeman was nomi nated for Congressman at large by a large majority. All the present State House officers were renominated with out opposition. The greatest harmo ny and g od feeling prevailed through out the deliberations of the convention. The Democra sof Georgia have spoken their will in .he gubernatorial conven tion, and to day The Citizen runs the names of its s andard-bearers to its mast head, and will sink or swim, sur vive or^erisli by its colors. The ’ime has come for the burying of all person al animosities an! personal prefer nces. An unscrupulous national Administra tion has already filled almost ail the federal offices with men o! noxious to the intelligence of the people of the State of Georgia, and is pushing that policy ‘o 'he utmost extreme with the hope of again es ablislti g Radical dom- iu^ti n.
