WAYNESBORO, GA.. FRIDAY, SEPT. 22,1882.
Entered at the post office at Waynesboro, Ga.
as second class matter.
HENRY F. MOURE'S HARDWARE ESTAB
LISHMENT. '
Chronicle Fourth Trade Issue.
Established in 1780,there is no es
timating the thousands of dollars
this house has saved the farmers of
Georgia and Carolina, not only hy
low prices and the intoduction of
first class goods, hut by keeping
down the pricnfl of others in the same
line. '-‘No goods exchanged for wind,”
said Mr. Moore to the T. I, man,
“but the best quality sold for the
money, thus insuring' the greatest
cash equivalent.” ‘ And after all,” he
continued, “the low priced cash
system is the most satisfactory both
to the buyer and seller. By this
means I can supply my trade with
the best class of goods ai the mini
mum price, and I get all these fel
lows to trading with me who appre
ciate the purchasing power of the
mighty dollar.” Mr. Moore occu
pies the beautiful three story build
ing, No. 809 Br*»ad street, one ol the
largest of the kind in the South, and
the only house in the city in this
line occupying an entire building—
three stories and a cellar.
The handsome store on the first
story, is rephne with a general as-
K‘>r!merit, of hardware, ami here the
farmer, huiul t, blacksmith and. mer
chant, can find his complete outfit,
ir-ra the farmer’s Il"dg> rs’ pocket-
k ife to a breech-loading shotgun.—
A specialty is made of keeping
fill finest quality of edged tools. A
complete stock of belting is here
f und.
Ascending to the spoon 1 floor by
meats of the elevator, we found an
ex ensive stock of wagon materials,
such as wheels, axels, hubs, spokes,
rims in the front part, ami in the
rear, anvils, be lows, vises, shovels,
r pc, etc.
The third floor is devoted to every
conceivable description of plows,
cultivators, harrows, etc.
In addition to the regular stock
of hardware,, >ic., mentioned, Mr.
Mooro»s 'hits of implement agencies
is unrivaled, and we find in the
warehouse the celebrated Eclipse
•Engine, which was honored hy the
highe-t awar i at the U. S. Centenni- j
a!, Atlanta Exposition, Melbourn,'
Australi., at the hands of an Eng-1
lish committee, in competition with
t went)—two English engines, and
I t'v bv a crucial practical test of
over 1,000 of the best men in Geor
gia and Carolina.
The Windup cotton gin, with
j'eedt-r and condenser, is peculiarly |
adapted to t dl ginning, hy reason of
the fact that being very strong arid
curable, it wi 1 stand steam and wa~
t. r power. Moreover, it, makes a
fine sample in the shortest possible
I I rn \ and a splendid turnout—a com-
I inatiun of good qualities unathined
by aiiy-other gin. The Winship and ,
Eclipse make an unrivaled outfit. |
Wonderful strides in the use of
improved implements have been
made in. the South in the last two
years, as evidenced hy Mr. Moore’s
large sales of Oliver Chilled Plows.—
M ne> is saved hy making one man
do the work often, and hy buying a.
first class implement,' which will lust
three times as long as a poor one.—
The Oliver, the latest improvement in
plows, runs lighter and lasts longer than
any other plow, improving the land con- i
stantly at a great saying of fertilizers, j
y a patented process the metal is so i
r in into the mold that the end of the I
fibre is presented on the wearing sir face,
making the hardest composition known.
if on’ space permit led, we would
describe the wonderfu' manure spreader,
which pulverizes evenly and spreads all
kinds of manure, either broadcast or in
thills, in one-tenth of the tune required
by hand, and affording from 40 to GO
pe ’cent, more benefit; or those tna- 1
chines of wonderful success, W. A.|
Wood’s mowers, reapers and binders;!
the latter cutting and tying in bundles
18 acres per day with two mules; the
dup.ex iron frame harrow ; three roller
cane mills and evaporators; Geiser
regulators, feed cutters, corn shellers,
and a host, of other labor-saving imple
men's, for which Mr. Moore is general
agent. »Sullice it to say, that parties in
need of any of these, or of hardware
and wagon materials of every descrip
lion, will save mouey by calling on or
addressing Henry P. Moore, 809 Broad
