If the youngsters in your family are exhibitors at the fair, you may
come home with snapshots that show not only prize-winning exhibits
but prize-winning smiles as well.
"Come io the Faar"
It’s County Fair time all over
America. What a time for tak
ing pictures! Whether you par
ticipate with your own entries in
the exhibits, or just go to look—
a wonderland of picture-taking
material is set down in front of
you all in one place.
This is the time to equip your
camera with flash, so that you can
take pictures under cover as well
as out in the open. You’ll want to
take pictures of the entries from
the farm and the kitchen. You’ll
want to snap your friends enjoy
ing the amusements. And you’ll
want to take some night shots
under the flaring lights.
If omeone at your house is pre
paring an entry, you’ve got good
subject material for a camera
series. Whether it’s the daughter
of the family baking a cherry pie
or one of the boys preparing a
4-H entry, it’s goodjaoto series
material. Start right from the
beginning.
For example, snap Sis among
the raw ingredients—the mixing
bowl, the pie tin, the bread board
and rolling pin, the cherries,
the cup of sugar—everything
right down to the measuring
spoons. Picture her rolling out
the cough, lifting it into the tin, !
filling the shell with the cher
ries, and taking the pie out of the
oven. Do it jn color. It’s the best
way to record a pretty face,
flushed with pride and color of
the ribbon she won. That one ■
alone is a pictur® that would be
a standout in any family album.
