You girls know very quickly
when a man means more than
mere ordinary friendebip for you.
You have an instinct that tells you
that this big, good-looking fellow
has come sweethearting, and that
is the time for you to study him a
little bit. Think out if his temper
and yours are certain to agree well
together; thiuk out if his tastes
and yours are alike, or if they can
grow to be so, for you know, little
women, if you want to be happy in
your married life, you must learn
the great and wonderful virtue of
adaptability. You must choose
your sweetheart as you do a new
gown, so that he will wear well;
but you want him for longer than
a winter; he must last through the
long summer days aud through the
winter ones, and before you put
your hand in his and tell him you
are willing to fight out the battle
of life together, think it all over
well, and remember that you are
choosing your sweetheart, uot for

He could converse with the
learned savants in German, French,
Latin and Dutch when ending the

heard the word. “How’s your

answer is given. Oh! it’s terrible!
the excruciating pain of ankle,
knee, elbow and shoulder, just as
if each point was a bundle of irri

bent on giving more pain than the
other. Lying awake all night
longing for daylight, aching too

cursing, turning twisting, but no
ease, no comfort. What is it that
causes rheumatism? Oh, there are
a thousand causes. What is it
that cares rheumatism? Thank
God, there is at least one care. It
