Elkins, W. Vo., Feb. 6.—As a result of
an explosion yesterday at Mine No. 25,
of-the Davie Coal and Coke Company,
at Thomas, naar here, twenty-five or
thirty miner*, the majority of whom
are foreigners, are supposed to be dead.
Five men who were Just entering the
mine when the explosion occurred have
been taken out.' There Is no way of
determining how many men were In Ihe
mine at the time of tbs explosion.
The flret searching party entered the
mine late yeeterday and recovered the
bodies of atx foreigners and one Ameri
can. Before further progress could be
