Mitchell street and swallowed an over
dose of laudanum. Ha was later taken
to the Grady hospital, where It wx*
announced on Tuesday that he was
out of danger.
Mr*. Briggs, who la staying at the
homo of a friend. Informed her hus
band, It la stated, that the would go
back to him If he would give up whisky
and beer end treat her right. To this
i Is sold to have replied:
"1 will never quit drinking whisky
and beer as long as it is inenufuc
tured."

took hla coat and rubbers off, and, pull
ing a long revolver, fired throe shots In

breast. Tha captain threw up hla arms
and died soon afterwards.

Chlckamuugu Park la well adapted for
this purpose, so that It fa a foregone
conclusion that the post will be ee-

option has been secured on 30,0*10 acres
of land, which will coat nearly 31,000.-
