Drooks. whose trial was concluded In
Hall superior court yraterdny. and went
lo the Jury Inst nlahl. being ctmrged
with accessory lo the killing of.Jack
Collins, was this morning found guilty
of murder and recommended to the
mercy of the court. Judge Klmsev
sentenced Mrs. Brooks to the peniten
tiary for life.
Her son. Foster Brook*, was last
week also found guilty and given n life
sentence.

COMPANYIS FORMED
TO BUILD ARMORY
SITE IS ACCEPTER
At a meeting of the etockholdere of
the auditorium-armory on Thursday
morning at II o'eiock. at the Chamber
of Commerce Headquarters, permanent
organisation was effected and the sec
retary was authorised to call for the
payment of the first lo per cent of the
capital stock.
On motion of Hon. Clark Nowell, the
committee of twenty-five dtlsens wsa
annolnled aa the .board of directors of
the auditorium-armory. The following
officers Were elected:
James R. Gray, president: John E.
Murphy, vice president; Walter O.
Cooper, secretary, and R. F. Maddox,
treasurer.
The Incorporators first met. presided
over by Mr. Gray. Colonel Clifford L.
Anderson, representing the charter
committee, reported that the chart sr
had been secured. The charter was
read and duly accepted. The subscrip
tions to the stock were accepted. The
secretary reported that more had been
subscribed than -y originally planned
and the Incorporator* recommended
that the directors stake the subscrlp-
tlone conform to the amount needed.
The Incorporators adjourned and the
stockholders met. On motion. It was
derided to have a committee of three
draw up by-lawa to govern the bodv,
the committee to. report back to the
stockholders at a subsequent meeting.
The following committee was appoint
ed: J. J. Hpaldlng. chairman: Clifford
I, Anderson and John E. Murphy.
The Gllmer-Courtland site for the
auditorium was accepted, and the di
rectors were authorised to make the
purchase. Messrs. Spaldlnc. Anderson
and Murphy were appointed as a com
mittee to draw up resolution* authoris
ing Ihe Issuance nf bonds, which will
be submitted to the stockholders at a
meeting to be held neat Wednesday
morning at Jl o'clock.
Ten per cent of Ihe stork subscrip
tion* must be made before February 15.

Thursday morning at II o'rtork, Har
vey H. Griffith, of lit Angtar avenue,
a clear salesman, purchased 10 rente
wurth of morphine, obtained a glass
of water et the soda fount, and then
swallowed ihe whole amount, ten
quarter grains. x
After swallowing the poison. Gilf-i
nth calmly asked Ih* dark behind Die
soda fount to send for a friend ut the
Uoodrum Cigar stort, at Peachtree and
Marietta streets. Tha young man then
walked to the rear of the atore and bhi
down In a chair.
One quarter of a grain la considered
a dose nf the drug, and when II be
came known Griffith had swallowed ten
quarter grain*, the Grady hospital was
promptly notlffed and Griffith hurried
there In nn ambulance. HI* condition

had purchased tickets for himself and
bride to New Orleans, but beyond this
nn tree* was found. Mrs. Hood has
never recalved any word from her

to the already strange case.
