THE ATLANTA GEORGIAN AND NEWS. •■'r,~—^T”rV—ijw - TCMtDAT, FEWtCACt IL UK.. GREAT RECORD MADE BY Employers’ Liability Assurance Corporation In tho face of pessimistic expressions regarding general conditions in the liability field, the Employers’ Liability of London on December 31, rounded up the most satisfactory year in the his tory of the American department. Material increases are shown in all essential itomB, the new figures showing in the aggregate assets of $3,910,518; total reserves. $2,857,245, and surplus to pol icy-holders. $1,033,272. The assets were increased by $830,807, while the surplus is larger by $402,343. The total pre miums written amounted to $2,058,720, or about $350,000 more than in 1905. The assets of the corporation are well invested in high-class bonds, nearly ull of which are payable in gold. Conservative in the best sense, the management has demonstrated its superior ability by pro ducing a reasonable underwriting profit on its 1906 operations, which in a business as hazardous as .his specialty is no mean achievement. Since entering the United States in 1886, and it was the pioneer liability company in this eoun- mt. the Employers has written over $25,000,000 in premiums and lias paid nearly $12,000,000 to loss claimants. The Employers’ Liability starts 1907 with larger resources than ever before in.its history, and n carefully selected and steadily increasing business, well'established in all sections of the country. The field representatives are capable and loyal, and under United States Manager Ap- IdefonVable direction4his strong jmd popular institution is well equipped to add still further to its luurcls.—The Standard.
