Morrow, a well-known cltiaan of tbls
county, accidentally shot himself In the
left shoulder while out hunting, the
load striking him In tbs left breast,
ranging upward and tearing away the
flesh. Mr. Morrow had -finished load
ing one barrel of Ms gun. a muxslt-
loader, and was preparing to load tha
other barrel, when hie powder horn
accidentally fell from 'ills shoulder,
striking the cap on ths barrel that hod
been loaded, causing It to discharge.

the blind children of the state, who
have been out of a home for Instruction

Ollphant la already engaged In pre
paratory work at the new building, ao

Inmates. The trustees have elected Dr.

stitution. and Dr. Peele has been re

HARRIS SENTENCED TO HANG
FOR MURDER OF WOMAN.

Gaffney, 8. C n March 1.—Judge Al
drich yesterday afternoon sentenced
Tom Harris, alias Tom Childress, of
North Carolina, to bang March 29 for
tho murder of Mrs. Morgan at this
place several months ago. The Jury
was out less than an hour and returned
a verdict without recommendation in
less than nn hour.
Harris was tried for cutting the
woman's throat' and robbing her cf
$900. After his ntpest he narrowly
escaped being lynched by the angry
rltixens and wan taken to Spartanburg
for wife-keeping. While confined In
the county Jail he made a confession t
Deputy Sheriff White, Jailor Decknell
and Rev. \V. P. Smith. The confes
sion was taken down In writing am
offered In evidence by the stute.
