Anniston. Ala., March 6.—A decided sensation was caused here yesterday afternoon by Street Overoer Fhrker chastising a convict for refuting to work on the streets. This morning Mayor Kilby with the police and street com* mlttee* of the round) Investigated the case and suspended Street Overseer Parker for fifteen days. Policeman Hill, who saw the chastisement with out Interfering, waa auapended ten daya and Warden Alley,, who sent the man out. waa suspended for ‘ten days. Thief of Police Dill Wha reprimanded for the same reason. The affair caused quite a stir among the citizen* of Weal Fifteenth street, where the chastisement occurred.
