matics and political economy.
It was on one Monday night in Feb
ruary, fust after darkness had aettled
over the city. Mr. Denmark waa hand
ed a telegram. Upon opening It Its

ported In the city that the Gulf Cotton
Compress Company Is flgurint on pur
chasing the large plant built In East
Decatur some years ago by the United
States Rolling Block Company. This
plant was later sold to an Iron bridge
company, but for several years the
plant has bean Idle. The compress
company has been using the sheds of
this plant this winter for storing cot
