•.. GEORGIA PETROLEUM ...
WE'VE STRUCK NATURAL GAS
NOW LOOK OUT FOR OIL!
It Is now almost a certainty that
Georgia la loon to have an oil Held
and that the fortunate bolder* of thle
company'* atock are coon to aee their
•lock soaring upwards In value to $10.
|25. or )100 per ahare. We have all
aloug maintained that there waa
greater evidence of the exlatence of a
great oil Held In Jefferson county and
Eastern Georgia than waa to be found
anywhere In the country before oil
well* were actually drilled to the oil
formation. So thoroughly did we be
lieve this that we went ahead with the
drilling of our flrat oil 'well, the offl-
cera and director* of the company put
ting large amount*' of money and a
great deal of time In with the money ,
of the other atockholdera, thus show
ing tbelr good faith—backing their
judgment with their mpt)4y.
And now after drilling the well to
a considerable depth, about 750 feet
l we dare not be deQnlte as will be ex
plained further on), we have developed
such tangible facts aa to warrant us
In saying that we are almost certain of
finding oil In large quantities In a few
days.
Late last week the drill penetrated a
soft formation from which there flowed
a lalge quantity of natural gas. In
fact, for over two days this gas was
very noticeable, the flow ceasing only
when the drive-pipe was driven down
through the formation, thus shutting
It off.
Now natural gaa la the Invariable ac
companiment of crude petroleum. It la
the product which escapes when oil la
fermented or distilled from the animal
deposits which are the source of the
oil. We have great and good reasons,
therefore, for feeling highly Jubilant
over the work to date and for our In
creased confidence In the result of our
operations. . .
Now look out for the announcement
that OIL HA8 BEEN STRUCK.
We have other reasons for feeling
good. We are told by geologists that
we will find the crude petroleum In
what Is termed, geologically, the "Low
er Cretaceous rocks."
The Cretaceous series of rocks,
which underlie all of Jefferson county
and much of Eastern Georgia, were
formed way back In bygone nges when
the Atlantic ocean reached clear up to
the edge of the Piedmont Plateau. All
the eastern portion of Georgia was at
one time under the sea. As the waters
gradually receded they left deposits of
sand and clay and formed what Is
known as a coastal plain—the same
formation as those of Texas and Cali
fornia where Immense oil fields have
been opened up.
At the time the ocean extended up
to that point the coast line was Inhab
ited by monstrous animals, flying rep
tiles, etc., by the side of many of j.
which some'of the sky-scraper build-/
Ings of our cities would look like
mere playhouses. Many have seen pic
tures of the Dinosaur and other kin
dred mammoths which belonged to
the above age.
Some eruption of Nature took place
and burled these millions of-mon
strous animal bodies In these Creta
ceous sands and their bodies undergo
ing a process of natural distillation,
produced the crude petroleum which la
found flowing from the ground In
many places In the region surrounding
the properties of this company.
These large aiflmal'bodies are what
Is known as the Lower Cretaceous
matter.
Later on. after the death of these
monsters, the coast was Inhabited by
smaller animals—reptiles, flab, shell
fish, etc.—large In comparison with
moat of our more recent animal life,
to be sure, but small In comparison
with the monsters which preceded
them.
So, In drilling an oil well In Jefferson
cotinty we expectetTta find at all times
a deposit of sea, sands, clays, etc. We
expected to find two layers or deposits
of Cretaceous matter or animal re
mains—the y>p one belonging to the
Upper Cretaceous age, consisting of
the remains of small animals, the
lower one belonging to the Lower Cre-
taceoul age. containing the remains of
large animals.
Here Is what we have found to date:
First, vast deposits of sands and days,
which will be In evidence all the way
down. 8econd, A VA8T DEPOSIT.
OVER 70 FEET IN THICKNESS, OF
UPPER CRETACEOUS ANIMAL
BODIES, AND NATURAL GAS- E8-
CAPING FROM THIS FORMATION.
We have samples of hundreds of
bones, tusk*, shells, etc., which came
out of the well which can be seen at
our office.
So, link by link, the chain of evi
dence which Nature established to
show that an oil Held exists In Eastern
Georgia Is being unwound and every
link exactly fits tho rules laid down *
for the existence of an oil deposit of
great magnitude.
We have passed through the Upper
Cretaceous deposits. We are liable
to tap the Lower Cretaceous deposits
at any minute—and when we do there
will be witnessed the greatest Indus
trial revolution the South has ever ex
perienced. Surely the next few weeks
—possibly the next few days—will bo
millionaire making days. We are get
ting close to It—closer every day the
drill Is sunk farther Into the earth.
The deeper we go the more valuable
does the stock of this company be
come, for one by one we are removing
the speculative features. Day by day
we are establishing the chain of evi
dence. One by one we are picking up
the links and are forging a chain at
the end of which there Is an oil Held
for Georgia and millions for the stock<
holders of this company.
STOCK A GREAT BUY.
With high-grade crude petroleum
flowing from the ground In at least
a doxen known places: with every as
surance from geologists, chemists, ex
pert oil men and others that we have
practically unmistakable evidences of
a great deposit of oil beneath our vast

v properties; -With an oil well now drill
ing on those properties, and half way
completed; with thousands of dollsss'
worth of machinery and material on
our properties for the prosecution of
our development work, we have main
tained all along that. Georgia Petro
leum stock at 40 cents per share was
the best semt-speculative stock before
the public.
Hut with the additional evidences
and proofs added as outlined above:
with every day's work proving that
the* scientists knew what they were
talking about when they said we
would get oil; with a flow «of natural
gas already established: with the
finding of the Upper Cretaceous
formations as. we were told by
HClontlsts we must find them; with
every single development to date
minting directly to the finding of an
oil deposit In a few days—with all
these things added to the evidences we
.have hsd all along and corroborating
us In our deductions, wc say unquali
fiedly that Georgia Petroleum at 40
cents per share Is the best stock ever
offered to Georgians.
We have never made the mistake
of saying that the stock Is not specu
lative to a certain extent, and we do
not Intend to say so even now. But we
do-say that It Is less speculative now
than ever before and that It' Is by far
Jess speculative than 90 per cent of the
stocks which are being offered the pub
lic. And when you buy this stock you
may rest assured that you are at least
going to get a Square Deal.
But who would not be willing to take
a little chance along with u.i In view
of the small amount of speculation
that now remains and of the enormous
profits that are almost In sight?
Stock which can now be secured at
40 cents per share will be worth from
110 to 1100 or more per share tho
minute we get oil In this first well.
And It Is now but a matter of days
before It may be expected. Not, only
are Immense returns to be expected,
but they may be expected to come
quickly. Who knows but that If you
were to send In an order for slock
today It will be worth $100 per shnre
before your order reaches us? At the
same time we would be bound to Issun
It at 40 cents If your order were made
in good faith, until further.notice.
STANDARD OIL SPIES.
It Is but natural that whenever a few
Independent people get together In an
attempt to open up an oil field they
may expect the Standard crowd to be
ready to profit by anything they may
do.
We were prepared for Just sAch
things. The officers of ‘the company
were not born yesterday, and the pres
ident of the company baa been through
the mill before—he has cut his eye
teeth. Ten years' experience In the
oil producing business has not left him
entirely free from scars of former bat
tles with the octopus.
We wore not surprised, therefore, to
learn that the Standard had three
Spies near our well last week. These
spies are there to see what Is develop
ed. The Standard believes that we wilt
open up an oil field and, being In such
close proximity to Savannah! and the
coast, they know they cannot shut us
In and that we are bound to become
competitors. They want to know Just
what la being dope. therefore, and
have three of tbelr moat trusted spies
near our properties at this time.
As soon as we learned of this It was
decided that all persons should be pro
hibited from trespassing on our prop
erties and an order was Issued to the
superintendent to keep all persons
away from tbe well and off the proper
ties where we are drilling unless the
person has a. pass lasted by one of
the executive officers of the company.
At least two other oil companies -
have sent spies for the same purpose
and It Is very Important that we pre
vent Information reaching them as It
might be worth millions to them Just
now and Is, of course, worth as much
to us ss to them. It Is for this reason
I hat we cannot be definite In stating
the exact depth of our well from this
time on.
Hereafter, therefore, anyone who de
sires to visit our properties must show
good reasons for doing so and a pass
will then be Issued. We want everyone
whocan to examine Into our proposition
thoroughly and will be glad to extend
every accommodation to those whose
mission Is not Inimical to the Interests
of oar stockholders.
YOUR LAST CHANCE.
This Is the last warning that you
may expect to receive before the
stock Is withdrawn from the market.
You are now offered the opportunity
of a lifetime to secure a stock at 40
cents on the dollar whteh looks like
It might easily be worth $100 per
share In the next few days—possibly
In the next few hours. But a limited
amount of the 40 cent stock remains
to be sold In any event—and the
minute we get oil It will all be with
drawn from tbe market.
It Is therefore a matter needing
your quick consideration. If you
want any of the stock at the present
low price, do not waste a day getting
your order In to our offices—better
wire for your reservation and thus be
sure of getting the stock.
We Issued Just such a warning dur
ing the last week of January and when
the price Jumped from 25 cents to 40
cents on February 1, we bad on file
orders for over 17,000 shares which we
could not Dll at that price.
Don't think that yon can sit back
and wait until we have struck ofl and
then buy a sure thing fora small price.
Wo have arranged long ago to keep
those who wish to do that from accom
plishing their object We havs long
since agreed that as soon as oil Is
struck the stockholders who have
come In with us and helped us develop
this oil field will be given first oppor
tunity to take any other stock that
may b«.offered.
We db not think that the stock will
last at 40 cents more than three or
four days—certainly not more fhsu
a week. The stock Is not going beg
ging by any means and we will not
have to Issue another advertisement
In order to sell whst remains at 40
cents, And after this present allot
ment Is gone there will be no more
offered at any price until we have de
termined exactly what Is under our
properties.
Better Dll out the following order
blank AT ONCE and send In to this
office on tbe first mall, with remit
tance covering your order. It you
cannot remit bandlly at once wire us‘”
your reservation order and we will
Hold the stock for yon a reasonable
time. Let your remittance follow as
soon as possible.
No orders accepted for less than 25
shares.

never before. Your action may mean
tbe making or the loss of a fortune.

WARNING-STOCKHOLDERS-WARNING
Information has been reaching me of attempts to buy
stock from those who hsd purchased at 2$ cent* per
share, the bait offered being a price of SO or S5 cents per
share—or some price under that at which the company
is selling stock.
I have been In the oil business too long to tail to rec
ognise this trick and wish to Warn all stockholder* now
in the quickest manner possible that they may not be
caught In the net.
Standard Oil Is making frantic attempts to get Inside
information as regards our operations. They will go to
any lengths to accomplish this end and I can readily see
their line Italian hand In this play. *
The Georgia Petroleum Company has taken greater*
cautions to prevent Standard Oil or other Interests gain
ing a foothold In the company and has refused to Issue
any extremely large blocks of stock to any Individuals or
•Hied Interests. We wilt not Issue a share of Urn stock to
any whom we might suspect of being silled with other
Imprests. , . ,
If the Standard could xecure a block of the stock from
other Individuals, however, they could keep posted and
would have a nucleus upon which* to work. They
could get lists of our stockholders and make a systematic
campaign for a large block of stock.
300,000 shares of this company's stock Is treasury
stock, thus placing the control of the company In the
hands of the stockholders at all times. By keeping large «
blocks from being accumulated by Individuals or crowds
we can prevent the Standard or other Inimical Interests
from gaining the foothold they desire.
Do not, therefore, be Induced to part with your stock
for a mere pittance In tbe way of profits. ,
It Is either worth hundreds of times what you paid for
It or It Is worth nothing. Stand by your guns and we
will have an oil field, pipe lines and refineries of our own
in b short time or my ten years' experience In tbe oil bus
iness has been thrown away.
I have backed my Judgment with my money—thousands
of dollars. I have more money tied up In tbe enterprise
than any other stockholder. I hsve spent ten months* of
my time putting tbe company where It Is now—on the
very verge of success—and I would not sell any of my
holdings for any 10 or 15 cents profit, not for many times
that much profit.
I believe today more than ever before that we have an
oil field. I'believe that Georgia Petroleum stock Is the
best thing you ever bought. If I am right the stock Is
worth many times what you paid for It.
When the time Is rip^— when we have made the stock
valuable—when we have firmly established the company
high and dry above the reach of these sharks, then will
be the time for taking profits and taking them, not In
cents, but In dollars—hundreds, yes, thousands of them.
There will be plenty to go around when once wc have
opened up this oil field.
8o I say—STAND BY YOUR GUNS.
As an oil man of ten years' experience and as president
of the company I say unqualifiedly: Buy Georgia Petro-
leum at 40 cento—buy It quick. It Is now a matter of
days. yes. or hours. In my opinion, before It will be
worth many dollars per share.
OTTO G. TAGUE.
SPECIAI.—A rumor that seems to hsve at least soma
foundation In fact, has Just reached me which I will give
here for what It is worth until I have had It fully Investi
gated and have received a report. My Investigator Is
now looking Into the matter and will report fully In a
day or so. Here It Is as I have Just received It from a
party who waa very close to Its fountain head:
An artesian well was being drilled last week within It
miles from where the Georgia Petroleum Company Is
drilling Its oil well. New York parties are mixed up In
H In some manner—I think they own the land or
the well. A considerable deposit of oil Is said to have
been found lu the well. At any rate It Is said that work
was suddenly stopped and that an oil pump was ordered
out from New York.
I would not be at all surprised to learn that the whole
thing Is true, but in the meantime will simply say It
came from an apparently reliable and well Informed
source. I am having It Investigated. If It Is true It Is an
other Itnk added to wbt chain, wed a pretty strong oo*. -
If It I* not true—you hsve It for whst It Is worth—a
rumor.
