Ming uiminn was finally ejected from

frequently alluded to Miss Hofer as
"Mv Little Lump of Gold," and "Child

The death of Father A. Dowle, the
young and estimable daughter of the
"Prophet," In 1*03, without medical at

at the lust moment forgotten hie al

The police court room was the ecene
of -a dramatic Incident Friday after
noon at the conclusion of the trial of a
young married woman, Mrs. Alice Dye,
arraigned on the charge of neglecting
her children and giving too much of
her attention to Claude Garvin, a young
man recently placed In the Tower on
tho charge of vagrancy.
After hearing the evidence against
hit wife, Cbt husband, who throughout
tha trial had remalnad quiet, publicly
cast hli wife aside ofid requested Re
corder Broyles to send her to the stock
ade for thirty days. j'.
As the words came from her hus
band's lips, tho young wife, who only
a moment before bad appeared defiant,
completely collapsed and went Into
hysteric*. Rushing to her husband and
screaming hysterically, she threw her
arms wildly about httn and begged for
forgiven***. Unmoved and without a
change of expression. Dye quickly un
clasped - his wife'* arms and shoved her
from him, as though ha feared he would
become contaminated.
Realising that her husband's love had
auddenlr turned to hate, the distressed
woman waved her hands In the air,
her frame convulsed with uncontrolla
ble grief, and she shrieked:
“Oh, don't do thla! Please don't! I'll
go crasy! I'll go crasy! I can't stand
I 8ave me! Save me!"
During thla outbreak, the husband,
with the same cold expression on Ida
Impassive face, never gave the least
Intimation of weakening. His attitude
and manner called forth words of com
mendation from the recorder ami others
In the court room, who seemed to sym
pathise with him In the treatment he
had received.
The recorder severely reprimanded
Ur*. Dye. declaring' her husband ought
to kick her out of hie home, and sen
tenced her to serve ten days In the
liollce station. The prosecution was
represented by Attorney Sam C. Crane.
The comjtlalnt against Mrs. Dye was
mad* by Mrs. George B. Kimball, of 48
