ton 1* to be a great rallrond center
stems Inevitable. There In now In
operation the ocllla and Valdosta rail
road. a line running from Oriila and
Flttgersld to Braxton. and the Geor
gia and Florida railway, which will ex
tend from Augusta to the Gulf. A
charter la now being asked for »»y some-
Wsycross capitalists for a line from
Waycroau to Macon, which 111 pass
through here and on to ICastman on
the Bouth. A railroad Is projected
from Tlfton to Havannah. which will
pgss through this city, and lust, hut
not by any means least. Is the llroxton
Air Line railway, which will extend
from Helena and McRae In a southerly
direction through Broxton to Pearson
and Homervlllc, In flinch county, and
to Fargo, «m the Georgia Houthern and
Florida. Thl* will he a complete net
work of railroads tor Ibis city, and the
accommodations In that line cannot be
surpassed by any south Georgia city.
The city officials are opening up new
streets all over the city, and a new up.

The artesian well now being bored will
be completed by the first of the month,
which means a great deal for the magic

Elaborate preparations are being
made by Atlanta Pythlans for the re
ception and entertainment of Judge

Pythins, and a Khorassan royal prince,
who will arrive Tuesday afternoon.

Rapid progress Is being made by the
track gang* on the HapevUJo; and
Buckhead trolley linos and the official*
of the Georgia Hallway and Electric
Uompany believe that the Hapevllle
line will be ready for schedules before
many weeks have passed. The West
Peachtree line la being double tracked
to tho Intersection with Peachtree,
where two tracks will lead to Buck-
head, in the northern part of the
county.
Practically all the heavy rail laying
on Peachtree has been finished and the’
laborer* have given way to the usphalt-
er* on this thoroughfare. The consign
ment of car* ordered some months ago
I* on the way to Atlanta and n*xt
month w ill Ik* placed on schedules. The
management has announced a two and
one-half minute schedule to Ponce De-
l,«*on when that resort opens, other
lines getting accelerated schedules
