The song recital which will be given
next Monday evening In the assembly
hull of tho Klmbull will ho the last
appearance In Atlanta of Mrs. Sheridan
before her return to Europe. It Is ex
pected that the seating capacity of
the ussembly hall will be taxed to Its
utmost by the hundreds of Atlanta peo
ple who love Mrs. Sheridan’s superb
contralto, and who wish to hear her
again before her return to Paris. The
program will be a beautiful one, and
widely varied.
A WOMAN’S NOBLE WORK.
Mrs. Clurence If. Mackay, of New
York, has Just presented to Trinity
parish, at Roslyn, a beautiful church,
erected in memory of her mother, the
lute Mrs. William A. Duer. Mrs. Mac
kay Is recognized ns one of the most
attractive and useful women In the
fashlonablo life of New York. She has
been very uctlve In matters appertain
ing to the Improvement of the school
system In force, near her country home,
and lias been interested in other sub
jects looking to the betterment of social
conditions. At the dedicatory services
on Sunday there was no ostentation ut
the request of Mrs. Mackay.
This church, which suggests the
Greek in style, was ptnnned by the lute
Stanford White and Is an example of
perfect taste. When complete it will
have cost 350,000. Mrs. Maekay’s love
of simplicity was shown by the in
scription on the programs: ’This
church is erected In loving memory of
Ellen Travers Duer by her daughter.”
The altar and chancel were given by
members «»f the parish and the organ
by Mr. William Cook.

A •small chapel, which contains the
memorials and windows of the old Trin
ity church, has been placed* at the right
of the chancel, corresponding to the
place on the other side occupied by the
organ. This was given by William W.
Cook.

Plano Hall on the evening of Friday.

theme of It: ‘And This, Too, Shall Pass
