J IHE ATLANTA' GEORGIAN ANDNEWST : ~Sr.‘.T, SiiRCT rr, ijcr. Of Men’s Spring Suits—At Muse’s A little about Spring Suits and a hint—about buying. Tomorrow will be a safer day to buy Easter Suits than the next or the day after—to make sure of getting exactly what’s wanted and of getting any needed alterations. “ Of course, Muse’s always make extensive preparations, but remember the army of men who buy Easter Suits at Muse’s, and the ever large demand made upon us for them. Here are two 1907 cuts that you can be thinking about Two-button sacks. One doublebreasted; the other single. There are points decidedly new about both. For instance, the coat lapel must be more graceful and roll lower than last season. The shoulders should be wide, but not extreme. The back should suggest the figure line, butnot too closely. Your trousers either with or without cuff bottoms. Gray is the predominating note in colors, with plaids and checks more suggested than actually lined out. j ~ SPRING SUITS, Two or Three Pieces, $15.00 to $40.00 Agents for Knox Hats. The election of the chief of police and other oftlccrs and members of the police department will be held on Tues day, April 2. The board of police commissioners hns been planning to hold the election on next Saturday, but one of them tvas shown that It would be Illegal. The civil eervico act. under which the board proposes to elect the force, states distinctly that the election Is to be held on April 2, unless the chief and members resign previous to that date. Accordingly, the men will bo elected Tuesday. It Is now an assured fact that Chief Jennings will be re-elected, and proba bly without tho semhlnnce of opposi tion. All three captains will probably remain on tho force, but several ser geants are destined to feel tho keen edge of the ax. "Must Keep Every Man.” Alderman Key still says as positively as a man can say anything, that not a man on the force, who was elected by the coup d'etat of tho old board, will be displaced. 'They can go through tho form of electing men already elected if they, 'wish to,” stated Alderman Key Wed nesday morning, "but they will not be permitted to displace a single man who was elected under civil service by the old board. "If they elect all the men we elected, why I have no kick coming, blit If they try to displace any of these men there'll most certainly be something doing.” HE PUT THE LID OH, BUTTHENEWSGOTOUT APRIL NEW RECORDS FOR EDISON PHONOGRAPHS ON SALE TODAY PHILLIPS & CREW CO., 37-39 Peachtree Street. The Globe Clothing Co., 89-91 WHITEHALL ST. Special to The Georgian. Savannah. Ga.. March 27.—The re porters of The Morning News are up agalnet the proposition of getting police news here as best they may. This "best” Is much belter than It was a few daya ago, when Captain Austin, It was charged, was endeavoring to exer cise a sort of censorship over all of the news that was printed concerning his department. Now the reporters of this paper have been barred altogether from police headquarters. 8oon after his Induction Into office Captain Austin ndopted an attitude to ward the newspapers at variance with that of his predecessors. He demanded that the reporters atop using their dis cretion In writing up stories connected with his department. The result Is that more police news Is presented each day than might have been found In a week before. JUDGE WILLIAM8 LEAVES FOR THE CANAL ZONE. Special to The Georgian. Columbus. Ga.. March 27.—Hon.
