The crowning event In the social
realm of Griffin was th* reception given
Wednesday afternoon from 3 to 6
o'clock at the home of Mrs. T. Q.
Mills by the ladles of the Dorcas So
ciety. The home, which Is arranged
so perfectly for entertaining, was beau,
titled by bowls of violets, primroses and
palms. The open arches between the
three rooms made It very convenient
for the 300 guests to be seated and en
joy tho excellent musical program.
There were also readings by Miss Sa
rah Malone and Mrs. B. H. Moore. Tho
officers of the Dorcas were In the re-
celving party and the other ladles as
sisted In serving Iced tea and a salad
course.
Mrs. J. J. Mangham entertained four
tables of bridge Thursday afternoon In
honor of Miss Genie Prltchet. Mrs. J.
W. Mangham will also entertain at
cards next Tuesday In her honor.
