The tea at the Log Cabin Club on
Saturday evening will be quite an
event this week ns so many visitors
are In the city for the tournament, and
the tea will be the first social affair
given In their honor, to be followed by
a dance In the evening. The hostesses
for Saturday are: Mra. C. J. T. Clarke,
Mrs. Jack Cutler nnd Mrs. T. C. Burke,
and they will have a bevy of the young
er women to assist them.
Wednesday morning the Young La
dles' Sewing Club held a very delight
ful meeting with Miss Martha Lewis,
at her home In VlneviHB., The morning
xvas spent In doing dainty finger-work
nnd before leaving a delicious luncheon
was served.
Of the many pretty parties given this
week, particularly lovely was the
bridge party given Thursday ntlernoon
by Mrs. Bradford E. Roughton, at her
home on Georgia avenue.
It was the first time that the home
has been thrown open since It was re
modeled, and the rooms were all beau
tifully decorated and the occasion was
charming In every detail.

room, where the ceremony was pronounced,
was decorated with roses nnd carnations.
The ring service was used, nnd Miss Ethel
Allln, sister of tho groom, played the wed
ding music. Immediately after, tbw* wed
ding, the bride nnd groom and friends and
relatives enjoyed a six-course luncheou. The
couple left on their honeymoon for South
ern poitits after the luncheon.
On Wednesday evening, the wedding of
Mis* Elizabeth Christian to Mr. Frederick
Brown, of Bagdad, Fla., was solemnized

The monthly meeting of the Athens
Woman's Club was held Monday after,
noon at the home of the president, Mrs.
H. C. White. After the reports of the
secretary, treasurer and chairman of
the kindergarten committee, Miss Lucy
Stanton talked most Interestingly of the
“French Salons.” At the last meeting
of the letters and art section of the club
Mrs. James White read a scholarly pa
per on the Jews.
Monday afternoon the first annual
meeting of the Young Women's Chris
tian Association was held In the asso
ciation rooms ami the reports from the
chairmen of the various committees
were most gratifying.
