Philadelphia, Pa.. April 10.—The Lincoln Savings and Trust Company cloaed Its doora at 10 o'clock this morn ing. The offlclals say the suspension will bo temporary. The company has done a large business In acting as surety for contractors. "The state examiners,” said H. F. Stltzell, secretary, "thought some of our Investments poor. We disagree with the authorities. There will be absolutely no loss to the depositors or creditors of the company.” Although there may be an Impair ment of paid capital It Is understood that the state examiners have been on the company's books for over a week. Last night tho state bank examiner gave orders that the Institution was not to open this morning. John I. Comly, the president .of the company. TWO ARE POISONED BY ALAND AGENT Fort Scott. Kans.. April 10.—Joseph McKulecky, aged «5, and Joseph Sala- St. Petersburg. April 10.—A fierce conflict of authority between Premier Stolypln and several of the more im portant provincial governors has been brought to the attention of the exar. The clash Is the result of drum-head courts martial. Premier Stolypln has kept faith and for ten days none of the death sentences Inflicted by the mili tary courts has been carried out. The campaign of assassination by the revolutionaries, with the exception of several Insignificant murders of po lice by irresponsible students, has also ceased,' at least for the moment. Care ful examination of the official figures discloses tho fact that since August 1 eighty men and women havo been hanged or shot under sentence of the military courts, mostly within forty eight hours of arrest. • The other side of this picture is equally appalling. During the same period 1,241 wearers of tho czar's coat, of high and low degree, died at the hands of assassins.
