THE ATLANTA GEORGIAN ANI) NEWS.
HOW SHE LOOKED,
lust hold It slanting. that the light
May fall Just »o upon the glass.
There! Now you seem to have
right—
Sweet, quaint, old-fashioned little
lass!
How plain and smooth her hair It
worn;
The frock, how hideous Its stripe—
They wore such things ere we were
born:
It's grandmother's daguerreotype.
She looks so serious and stiff.
Yet those two curls are perfect dears,
I very often wonder If
She was as prim as she appears.
You see, her head the "artist" placed
In some machine with Iron gripe.
Stilt, signs of mischief 1 have traced
In grandmother's daguerreotype.
Orandfather says In time gone by
She led him quite a lively dance—
Dear me! It really makes one sigh
To think about that old romance.
He says she had such roguish eyes,
And lips, he says, like cherries ripe.
It’s something that you'd not surmise
From grandmother's daguerreotype.
