Interest In the Mny-June festival Is
growing by leaps and bounds as 1*
tvidenced by the numbers of letters and
inquiries received from all parts of
the State. The largo chorua of over
>00 voices Is being excellently trained
by Director J. Lewis Browne. "La
Corsicana," the beautiful opera by Dr.
Browne, will be produced, and this will
be one of the great features of the
festival. Another feature will be the
production for the first time of the
opera, "The God and the Maid.” the
leading role of which was written for
Campanarl, who has this season cov
ered himself with glory In New York.
Speaking of Madame Schuman-
Helnk. and of Madamo Dell Kendall
Werthner, two of the aololBts of the
festival, the Musical Courier says:.
“Madame Schumann-Helnk, who ap
peared In recital at Orchestral Hall
this afternoon, was accorded an ovation
which was richly deserved. Schumann-
Helnk's art, which Is art that conceals
art. was exampllfled In a program of
of the choicest offerings In all
■ong literature. In German Ueder this
superb artist has no peer, and the con
ceptions offered were the acme of ar
tistic perfection. In splendid voice this
consummate artist gave one of the most
enjoyable song recitals of the season.
Mrs. Dell Kendall-Werthner, so
prano, has been engaged as one of the
iololsts for the Atlanta May festival,
May 29 30, 31 and June 1. From
Atlanta Mrs. Werthner goes direct to
Asheville. N. C., where she will sing the
soprana role in 'The Messiah. On
May 3 8, Mr. and Mrs. Werthner appear
as soloists «t the Chattanooga Sanger-
feat.”

Perhaps the largest social event of
the week will he the presentation at the
Grand of the opera, “Caprice of Capri,
to be given under the patronage of the
Atlanta Art Association. The boxes
will be occupied by a large number of
society folk, and the audience Friday
evening will be probably tho most bril
liant of the season. The box-holders
for the Friday and the two Saturday

trained by Mr. Mayer and Mr. Pearson,

Dominion steamship line to Boston and
from Boston to Quincy, Mass., where
the launching takes place. After the
launching there will be a luncheon

"Mole Loft," and other attentions will
be shown the party. Returning, the
party may take In the Jamestown Ex-
position.
