The women of Georgia have played an important part in making their state exhibit at the Jamestown Ex position a success. Mrs. Aaron Bun; Steele, chairman of the woman's com mission, and the members of her com mission have ably co-operated with Governor Terrell and W. Norwood Mitchell, chairman of the Georgia com- > mission, and are to be congratulated upon the splendid work that has been done. , . The Georgia building Is modeled aft er the Bulloch home, at Roswell, On, Its great colonial columns, its broad porches and even its Interior decora tions being exact reproductions of * those of the old home. Tables, chairs, sideboards and other pieces of an tique furniture, formerly the property of Mrs. RoosevelL have been loaned by the present owners. When the president makes his address It will bo from the steps of the old Bulloch home, which have been carried to Jamestown for that very purpose. At the breakfast to be given In his honor the floral decorations used at his moth er's wedding will be reproduced and the same menu served. No state in the Union is so rich In resources as Georgia, and the exhibit at Jamestown is one of which her sons and daughters may well be proud. The exhibit Includes a geological display, one of mineralogy, showing the rich ores In which the state abounds, an educational display, showing Georgia’s advantages in that line, and a magnlfi- . cent exhibition of agricultural prod ucts. One of the most interesting dis plays will be that of the valuable his torical relics, which the women of Georgia have worked so hard to col lect. — Georgia Day. Governor Terrell and Mr. Mitchell have left nothing undone to make Georgia Day at the fair a brilliant suc cess. The president and his aides, Lieutenant Grant, who is a grandson of General Grant, and Lieutenant Lee, • who Is the son of Fltahugh Lee, and the members of .his cabinet will sail on the Mayflower to Jamestown on the night of June 9. On the morning of June 10, Georgia Day, the president and his party will go aboard the bat tleship Georgia, where they will be ' met by Governor Terrell, Mr. Mitchell and the other officials. The ship will then enter the harbor between a line of United States battleships and foreign men-of-war, which will salute the president on the battleship Georgia. — At Jamestown the party will be inet by General Frederick Grant, who will be at the head of the troops, the naval cadets, the West Point cadets, the stu dents of tho Virginia Military Insti tute, and the Georgia troops. These will form on escort for the president and his party, conducting them through long lines of United States und foreign troops to the Georgia building. After the entrance of the chief executive, the building will be completely surrounded by the troops. • President Roosevelt will be entertain ed at breakfast in the Georgia building, the guests to Include the cabinet, tho Georgia commissioners, the visiting governors, the foreign ambassadors and the admirals of the foreign vessels In the harbor at that time. A reception will be given in the after noon in order to afford all Georgia vls- • itors to the exposition the opportunity of meeting President Roosevelt. During ’ this reception Governor Terrell will pre sent the silver service for tho battle ship Georgia to the president, who will in turn present it to the captain of the ship. Woman’s Commission.
