upon Masons who have rendered dis

The English or York and the Scottish
rites are the only two practiced In the

Mr. Moulton Is the. guest of honor of
the Georgia Knights Templars at their
conclave In Atlanta, this being, the first
time that the head of the national order
has evsr visited Georgia. The follow

the Tyler-Keystone, a leading Masonic
Journal;
“George Mayhew Moulton was born
In Readsboro, Vt.. In 1861, and moved
to Chicago two years later. He be
gan business with his father In 1868

besides his own firm of elevator con
structors, the Geo. M. Moulton Co. His
record as a soldier has been as praise
worthy as that of his civil life. Por
years he was an officer of the state mi
litia and saw considerable service In the
great riots of '86 and '96. He was col
onel of the Second regiment L N. G.,
and took part In the Spanish war. In
1898 Colonel Moulton was detached
from the regiment and ordered on spe
cial duty to Havana, where he was as
signed to the duty of organising the
police department for that city, thus
becoming the first chief of police on the
Island of Cuba under the American flog.
“Brother Moulton's Masonic record Is
what one might eXpect from such a
man. He was raised In Covenant lodge
No. '528, February 26, 1875, and received
all the other degrees In the York Rite
the same year. He was grand master
of the grand lodge In 1901-1908, grand
