Judge and Mrs. Ed Baxter, during which she was much enter' talned. Thursday Mrs. William i ;ranberry, who Is well known to At lanta society through her visits to Mrs. Henry S. Jackson, gave a pretty bridge party for Mrs. Thomas and Mrs. Hor aco Van Deventer, of Knoxville, who Is here for a visit to her mother, Mrs. H. IL Lurton. The decorations In eluded hundreds of American beauties, Paul Neron roses and pink peonies, making one of the handsomest Horal displays seen at a spring entertain ment. The prizes given were also very handsome. Mrs. Edward Fortson, of Atlanta, after a visit to her aunt, Mrs. D. Shel by Williams, went today to spend a week with Mrs. O. N. Tillman at Till man Court, near Nashville. Mr. Fort- son will Join -her here during the're mainder of her visit. Mrs. Williams leaves tonight for New York, to attend- the graduation of her daughter, -Miss Mary Frazer, at the Finch School. The local literary coterie has en joyed for the past week the presence of two prominent .literary women. Miss Martha S. Bensley, of New York, who is the guest of Mrs. L. H. Harris, for merly of Atlanta, now of this city, and Mrs. Fannie Caldwell Macaulay, of Louisville, author of the charming "Lady of the Decoration." and the aunt of Mrs. Alice Hcgan nice, author of "Mrs. Wlggs of the Cabbage Fateh." Mrs. Macaulay Is visiting. Mrs. W. R. Lainbuth. Mrs. L. P. Yundell and Mrs. Norman Farrell gave a tea for her a few days ago, and another was ten dered her Wednesday at the home of Mrs. W. J. Wallace, Jr. Mrs. W. F. Tillett also gave a luncheon for her the same day, and that night Dr. and Mrs. W. W. Pinson entertulnecT her at dinner.
