Jr., fell from the second‘story their home to the ground and was no! Injured. The child only missed a picket fence a few inches. Merrill, 72 year* of age, and major in the United Htatea army, Wednta day filed ault for $20,000 against the Georgia Railway and Electric Compnny for Injuries alleged to have been received while attempt ing to board a car ou Peachtree street on January 2, 1907. June II.—Henry Jones, the Covington county desperado, was brought to Jackson Jail last night by Sheriff Lott, to prevent mob vio lence. Jones escaped from the county fnrm yesterday morning, doped up, se cured a shotgun and started out, he stated, to kill several white persons whom were responsible for his county farm sentence. He was overpowered before had a chance to use his gun. 8hertff Lott also brought In a negro named John Howse, who attempted to assassinate a white family near Collins, firing a shotgun Into their dwelling.
