TIPS FLASHED
From Wall Street
HpMlal to The Georclin.
(From Hnyward, Vick A Clark.)
New York, June 13.—J. K. Bache A Co.,
Ijondon market generally higher for Ameri
cans.
Late failures announced, both member* of
deposits, Dot it Will not disturb tbe uiouey
market.
The market Is entirely professional again
A few stray sales here and there of stale
accounts came out yesterday In stocks,
such as New York Air Brake, but wus not
nrded as significant.
Jhe recovery toward the end was on
short covering and some new buying.
The wheat sltnatlou is ugaln reported
to be Improving and will no doubt have
good effect on grangers.
It is thought gold will cease going out.
Look for stronger opening.
New York Commercial: The railroad
equipment pompanles are In high favor
now. They are making money “hand o ~
fist," and all sorts of things are predfe
of them. It was said Tuesday that Am
can Locomotive and Pressed Steel Cgr u
make larger distributions, and that tbe
rectors of American Steel Foundries ml*.-.
find It Incumbent upon themselves to pay
something. It has made uo disbursements
to stockholders since 1904.
“Too much prosperity" seems to have
been the matter with tbe prominent con
tracting firm for which receivers were ap
pointed Tuesday. Not lo *■* * ’

It was so prosperous.
Rumors are persistent in Wall street to
the effect that “tbe big men" are about to
come together and combine their forces for

does not need supporting and thut
there Is no need of tbe massing of forces to
come to Its rescue.
What Is to be done In order to bring
public Into the stock market? A call has
been mode, addressed to the specialists,
who are Invited to make their wares more
tentlon to the general market.
Town Topics: Tbe attitude of the ad
ministration In forcing the anthracite coal
roads Into court to defend action under
the anti trust statutes and the belief that
similar measures will before long be taken
In connection with the Horrlman merger,
say nothing of embarrassments Tn**varfous
lines of manufacturing nnd mercantile en
deavor, have evidently determined the bank
ing interests thnt have been back of the
• ->ward movement In the market to cease
jelr bullish endeavors for the time being.
Consequently the market will, In our opin
ion, continue a professional affair for tbe
next few days with the advantage on the
bear side. Support will be present, but only
on the scale-down and not aggressive unless
necessary to prevent demoralisation. In
view of the rather unfavorable bank state
ment outlook and the other considerations
mentioned, we believe that stocks can be
side.
Bear points are out on Pennsylvania and
Rending.
Canadian Taclflc may continue buoyant
•>a extra dividend talk, but we much prefer
Great Northern, which Is worth as much
and is being steadily accumulated by in
side Interests.
With fair weather wheat and cotton
should go lower, and_we would buy only on
weak spots for moderate profits.
