Fears of a telegraphers'^ strike and the connequent tying up of business In the vari ous grain exchanges of tho country acted as n damper on the entire market Very few new commitments were made in any of the pit*. The recelpta of five or si* cara of new potatoea has depressed the price on thia commodity. However, we do not look for thla condition on new po tatoea to laat over a week. Old pota toea have been In vary Utile demand, and what stock la on hand will proba bly be taken up the coming week. Pineapples have been plentiful and prices remain stationary aa quoted. Georgia watermelons have made thtlr appearance In the market, and we look for reasonable prices to pre vail from now on with large consump tion. Rockford cantaloupes are coming on the market, which means a good varie ty of cantaloupe, which will sell at good prices. Strawberries are getting very scarce, but dewberries are coming In plentlftll supply, the fruit being of excellent quality. Egg pricee remain stationary and quality good. Friers, hens and other live poultry have been very plentiful this week with pricee ranging as quotsd. We look for a sluggish market the coming week on general line of vege tables. Fruits, however, will be In food demand; and Georgia peaches will be coming In In liberal quantities; also watermelons, cantaloupes, pineapples, bananas, etc./and prices will regulate cn these according to supply.
