I-ittlc Miss Esther Kelly was hostess Monday afternon at a beautiful party at which twenty, children were enter tained In honor of her sixth birthday. The party was given at the home of little Miss Kelly's grandmother, Mr \V. S. Kelly, of West End, and afti several merry games were played for which prizes were awarded, delicious refreshments were served. Miss Kelly IS the attractive little daughter of Mr. and Mr*. Charles Kelly, 8AYWELL-STRICKLAND. The marriage of Miss Berta Strick land and Mr. Ernest John Saywelt took place Saturday morning ut 9:10 o'clock at the Eplecopal church, at West End-. The bride was given away by her brother-in-law,.Mr..Edward a. Warner, and the ceremony was performed by Rev. J. J, p. Perry. An interesting feature of the mar rlage ceremony wae the celebration of the holy communion Immediately after the nuptial rlteS. Little Miss Ethel Power and Master Frank Russey, of Anniston, preceded the bride to the altar. The beautiful decorations were ar ranged partly by tha Young Ladles’ Guild of the church. Miss Powell wore a pretty frock of white mull and lace, with sash of yel low ribbon, and carried a baaket of marguerites. Master Russey, who bore the ring. Wore a stylish white suit. The bride's lingerie toilet waa an exquisite creation of white mull and lace, with tulle veil, adjusted with or ange blossoms. Her shower bouquet was of white roses and lilies of the valley. The ushers were: Messrs. B. M. Plrlckland and W. 8. Kelley, of At lanta, and Mr. Noble Bell, of Anniston. Mr. nnd Mrs. Saywell left at noon over the Southern railway for a trip of several weeks. The maid of honor, the bride's only sister, wore a white chiffon gown, trimmed with Irish point lace, a white hat with sweeping ostrich feathers and carried an arm bouquet of white lilies. The bride's traveling dress was a brown marquesette, with hat of tan leghorn, with brown ostrich plumes. Colonel and Mrs. Russell were fol lowed to the train by a large concourse of their friends, prominent In all the walks of life, to wish them "bonvoy- age" on their wedding trip. They left on a special train, which will run spe cial to St. Louis, arriving there at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon, where they will remain until Saturday night, and during their short stay will be exten sively entertained by prominent St. Louisians, friends of Colonel Russell, They will visit Chicago, Buffalo, Nlag. ara Falls, Toronto. Montreal and Que bec, and after their Canadian trip will return via Boston and New York.
