COTTON OIL SCHOOL
FOR GEORGIA. TECH
More than usual Interest has been
attached to the bill recently Introduced
in the house-by Representative Boyd,
of Spalding county, calling for an ap
propriation of $10;000 for the Institu
tion of a cotton seed oil refinery at the
$c..rgia School of*Technology.
Mr. Martin, of Elbert county, chair*
man of the committee on agriculture
at the last session of the house, and
who will In all probability be named
on this committee as chairman this
year. Is one of the most ardent support
ers <»f the bill.
"I ain heartily In favor of It/’ he
declared. "If by Us maintenance our
boys may be taught how to set up
and operate these cotton oil mills. It
win prove a wonderful boon- for us.
Anything that will help us to make
more out of our great Southern product
helps the South and the farmer. I
don't think there will be any trouble In
Retting the bill favorably reported, and
probably get the money for Its Instal
lation at the Tech this fall.”
Mr. Boyd, the author of the measure,
said:
"Every member I have talked to Is
heartily in favor of this bill. The cost
win be so small In comparison to the
Rient nnd good results we will get
from it. that there Is no comparison.
Th* bill has been referred to the ap
propriation committee, where, I am
sure, it will be reported upon favorably,
and I believe It will come up early
next week for passage."
Another hill of Interest to the farm-
cr* generally Is that of Mr. Dunbar, of
Richmond, which, while a local bill and
applicable only to Richmond county, Is
liable to spread In practice. This bill
provides for the licensing of all cotton
buyers nnd brokers, and only those
!i« ensed shall be allowed to buy cotton
seed between the marketing months of
August and December 1.

When the first Mrs. Hanna brought
suit for divorce Hanna's friends picked
Mrs. Daisy Gordon Maud as the sec
ond bride, and they did It without much
hesitation. They were Just as prompt
In picking Mrs. Stewart for the third
bride.
Hanna acquired the marrying habit
early. Before he was of age he was
married to May Harrington, who ob
tained a divorce from him in 1900. He
then married Mrs. Maud, who had been
divorced from Walter De S. Maud. She
obtained a divorce from Hanna several
weeks ago.
The new Mrs. Hanna Is a woman
of great beauty. She was divorced
several years ago from Frank Skelly,
a clerk at the Hollenden, now' a room
clerk at the Waldorf. New York. She
has one child, a girl about 8 years old,
