peratuies and showers were very beneficial,
which made rapid growth during the week.
The most favorable reports of the sensou
are now received from practically the entire
cotton belt. Home reports recovering tu late-

There was n brief show of strength in
the wheat market early, principally because
of the threshing delays that will be contin
gent ou the heavy rain lu the southwest
nud because of tbe light world's shipments.
The northwest, however, was very weak.
Ualns were general there ou Sunday, thf
sections needlug rain getting It, nnd the
market turned very weak. Selling orders
poured Into the pit lu profusion, and sup
port was very poor until prices reached tho
low level, when the big northwestern longs
bought freely, uddlug to their longs. Th<
recovery 'later was fractional and not wol
held. Tho trade was of moderate volume.
Corn wns weak, tho new crop months In
particular showing a downward trend. Tho
southwest was tho heaviest seller. Iowa
complained of too much rain.
