Macon, Ga., July 20.—Tho heighth of
the fruit-shipping season has been
reached in this week's shipments of
peaches, and more of the luscious fruit
haa left Georgia in the last few days
than in the previous two weeks.
The total shipped to date is 729 cars,
which Is considerably in excess of an
estimate made some weeks ago, fore
casting that the shipments would not
pass 600 car loads. At present It seems
that the shipments will reach 1,200 or
1,500.

BILL TO BE RUSHED,

Macon, Ga., July 20.—All four mem
bers of the Bibb county representa
tion in the legislature have In their
possession copies of the annexation
bill which was recently submitted to
the city council and passed by that
body. The bill os It stands is rather
a lengthy affair. Copies of the bill
were forwarded some time ago, as
Mayor Smith wishes the measure to
come up before the house as soon as
possible. The representatives from Bibb
county are very probably discussing
the bill at the present time and agree
ing upon the one who Is to first bring
It up. In Macon the larger property
owners and members of the city coun
cil are greatly Interested In the meas
ure, and word is expected from At
lanta each day, saying that the bill has
been Introduced.

from here to Augusta ended at the
Savanah bridge by tho arrival of the
Ford at 11:30 o'clock. The start was
from the Congaree bridge at 7:0

VOTE A PROTEST
Light haa been (died upon the re
nted action of the Fulton County
ledlcal Association against a portion
of the Hardman-Covington bill, by a
prominent physician who was present
at the meeting Thursday night, and
who denies that the association voted
to send a memorial to the legislature.
According to the physician the thing
happened as follows;
It was a regular meeting of the as
sociation. The legislative committee
rendered a report against the particu
lar section relating to the use of whis
ky by physicians and ns customary the
report waa accepted. A motion to send
a delegation to the legislature and to
publish resolutions against the bill in
the papers was voted down. It was
understood that the discussion was not
be published, but it leaked out and
an officer of the association verified the
facts aa obtained by The Georgian. In
this way It was reported that the medi
cal association as a body waa opposed
