TO GIVE SERIES OF PARTIES.
Mr*. W. C. Humphries will be the
attractive hostess at a series of Infor
mal bridge and euchre parties which
will assemble from time to time dur
ing the month of July her friends and
neighbors. The first of the series was
given last Tuesday night and was one
of the most enjoyable events of the
week. Mr. and Mrs. Humphries re
ceived their guests on the spacious
veranda of their lovely new home on
Peachtree View, and here euchre was
played. The score cards were tiny
fan*, and every detail carried out the
summer Idea. The prise* were a
gold pin for the ladles and an ash tray
for the gentlemen. These were won
by Mr*. F. O. Foster and Dr. M. A.
Purse. At the conclusion of the game
a delicious salad courae was served.

The wedding of Mis* Elisabeth
Leake and Mr. R. E. Henderson, of
Chattanooga, occurred near Carters-
vllle on Wednesday afternoon at the
country home of Mr. Tom Leake, the
father of the bride. Only the relatives
and Intlmnte friends were present.
The ceremony was performed by Rev.
J. W. Duvnl. after which the bride and
groom left for Cnattanooga.
Mrs. Henderson waa one of Carters-
ville’s most attractive young women.

Wednesday evening at the Country
Club In honor of Miss Sara Evans and
Iter guests. Miss Brown and Mis* Jack-

and ferns arranged In a large silver
