Chicago, July 30.—Bartlett, Frailer & Car-
rington: Weather porfect throughout the
grain belt. Clear with seasonable tempera
tures. While there is so much doubt re
garding the northwestern crop, do not look
for much decline in wheat, and it will take
continued damage reports to advance the
market. Mown nt of winter wheat is In
creasing nnd lomt for larger receipts.
Movement of corn Is quite moderate nnd
promise* to continue so for the next three
weeks. Harvesting Is late, and farmers will
be too busy to deliver. The conditions of
the growing crop is Improving rapidly. Feel
friendly,to the near-by futures, but with u
continuance of this weather would look
to see tho distant futures sell off.

than expected and caused some apprehn-
slon that a break was Imminent. The
strength of tho stocks In f^mdon, however,
ought to assure the timid hulls that the
manipulation Is In strong bands nnd that
prices are destined to advance further l»e-
advlae buying on any declines
Town Topic*: The renewal of engage
ment* of gold for export has been used as
a signal l»y the professional element to
•hake down tho market. While they met
with a fair degree of success in their efforts
yesterday, we are of the opinion that they
duced levels. This, howover, should not In
fluence those desirous of buying good rail
road securities, and we think tho decline In
prices yesterday affords a good opportunity
to pick up some cheap stocks, especially In
the event of a lower opening today. The
prospects of a record quarterly statement
of earnings to lie published after the close
today br the fiteel Corporation should help
the market at large.
We see no reason to feel apprehensive
nnd believe that higher prices will prevail
before the end of the week, nnd we would
take advantage of the present depression to
