Lamar Hill, a well-known young law yer, and president of the Young Men's Democratic League of Fulton County, Is lying at his apartments In the Marl borough suffering from injuries receiv ed Wednesday afternoon by being thrown from a runaway horse. While rendered unconscious and painfully bruised, Mr. Hill Is not se riously Injured, and he was reported to be Improving Thursday. He and Ralph Burdett went horseback riding Wednesday afternoon, and near the comer of Peachtree and Kimball streets a change of horses was decided upon. As Mr. Hill mounted the horse pre viously ridden by Mr. Burdett, the ani mal bolted And dashed madly off. In attempting to Jump from tho horse, Mr. Hill’s /oot caught In the stirrup nnd he was thrown violently to the ground. He was taken to his apartments and An examination made by physicians. No bones were found to be broken, al though his face and body was badly bruised. FILIPINOS UNFIT FOR SELF-GOVERNMENT Washington, D. C., Aug. 1—Officials of the war department believe that the results of Tuesday’s election In the Philippines make manifest the neces sity of radical changes In the local government of the Islands, and It Is expected that recommendations look ing to these changes will be made to congress at Its next session.
