This week may propttly be termed a Job-
Iters* carnival, for the stores sre crowded
with buyers who are here to place business
and sales nre reaching high figures In all
departments. Especially In the white goods
lines and linens buyers nre taking advan
tage of the special offerings. There Is no
sign of trade weakness In the retail buy
ers attitude toward fall merchandise. The
only complaint that Is being made Is over
the collections that are coming In from cer
tain points In tho South. Jointers find that,
n some cases, the retailers nre falling be-
llnd. but It Is believed this condition will
soon right Itself. Tho silk trade Is active
on fall delivery goods and prices on all wide
silks, whether in blacks or In colors and
In nil grades are In short supply with prices
firm and expected to advance. In the men’s
wear woolens nre moving to some extent
on repent orders for fall delivery. The
calls come from Western clothiers and
some of the St. Louis cloth JobboTs.

The strength In coarse grains was a f

World's shipments of wheat for the week
were again small at 7,504,040 buaheli, com
